Pefkides Aegina Boutique Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Aegina

Probably the worst apartment we have ever stayed. Makes you wonder if the reviews on the internet are genuine.. Practically non-existent, indifferent and disorganized hosts: when we called them upon arrival, they almost wondered who we are, needless to say that no-one was there and urged us to search for the cleaning lady and ask if she had the keys to our apartment. Note: we had agreed and confirmed our arrival and deposited a down payment!! Sleep: Least comfortable bed mattress, must be there from the 80s, combined with a single tiny pillow. Had to use my own inflatable beach pillow to sleep properly. Bathroom: inadequate shower protection glass, the whole bathroom is flooding as soon as you start showering. The toilet bowl is placed in the most narrow place, making it impossible to sit properly. Room: visible damages, e.g. lights not working, cabinet doors hanging, dirty appliances from previous guests. When I mentioned those to the host from the very first day, she seemed surprised and totally unaware. Never fixed any of those... Service: you lift your suitcases, water bottles, anything on your own, no-one is there to help. On top of that, a rude old lady living in a permanent apartment makes inappropriate comments as you pass by carrying heavy things. When you leave the room, the cleaning lady enters, of course she doesn't intend to clean, she just wants to turn the air-conditioning off. To be fair, sitting on the highest point of Aghia Marina, the apartments have an amazing view of the entire village, but with such low room quality and bad, inadequate hosts all that beaty goes to waste. We had a lovely stay at Pefkides! The family room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully maintained, with great views from the balcony. The location is quiet and peaceful—perfect for relaxing—yet only a few minutes’ drive from Agia Marina. The owners are really nice and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Starting with the least enjoyable which is the location of the rooms. It is quite far away from Aegina (15-20 min) and quite high towards the mountain, making it quite difficult to access by foot. If you have a mean of transport, this resolves quite easily. The rooms by themselves are quite accommodating,nothing too fancy, and any problems that appeared where resolved quite fast from the owners.
