Eleni Goumenaki Plakias Studios — Hotel in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

My wife and I have just returned home after a wonderful week staying at Plakias Studios – Eleni Goumenaki. This is a place to return to, and have done so for 9 or 10 times since 2007. The hosts are very helpful and very friendly. The rooms have recently been very nicely decorated and are as always very clean and tidy. The main room has nice furniture adequate for their purposes included a very good bed. There is also a kitchenette to prepare breakfast and small dishes. The bathroom is small, but for a few weeks it is quite sufficient. The view over Plakias Bay is stunning from most rooms with their balcony and from the garden. You might also park your car on the plot. The location is very convenient; just 3 minutes walking distance from the village, with all amenities available. Although good location and nice view from the terrace (warning: not all rooms have direct access to the terrace) I do not recommend the place because of the service. The owner barely speaks English and keeps beginning awkward discusses, that make us feel uncomfortable. Although the air conditioning was problematic (see picture attached) and has been regularly switched of by the owner while we were outside and few situations that the water from it poured our room at night we were extra charged for using it (not mentioning that there was no information about extra charge in our room). Fully recommend staying in Eleni's apartment if you're looking for a clean, quiet, and magical stay in Plakias. Unbeatable sea views, a short walk into the town, and the perfect base to go off and explore more of the island. There is plenty to do and see around Plakias, making it a great destination for a week's holiday.
