This cafe bar is incredibly versatile. We had breakfast most mornings here, our whole group had the English Breakfast each day and they also catered for my betrothed who has a Gluten Allergy. Sharon is very welcoming and takes allergies very seriously and ensures the kitchen is cleaned down before preparing the meal.

The food is very well priced and the staff are very good, especially Nikos. We felt there was no need to try any other restaurant or cafe for breakfast as this one was so perfect. The view and calming atmosphere in the morning is incredible.

Once the sun goes down this place comes alive, the atmosphere is totally changed and becomes a very lively (but still relaxing) bar. The drinks are incredible, I highly recommend the Ostraco Special Cocktail, served by the very professional gentleman in the evening whose name I have forgotten!

The music is great, all genres and all years. No thumpy chav music as most would expect at a music bar.

The best bar in Plakias ran by the hardest working man in Crete! I have absolutely no idea who many miles Nikos must walk in a typical season but it will certainly be into the thousands! He is the warmest, friendliest and most consistently good-humored man I have had the pleasure to meet. As I know only too well, working in the tourist industry can be challenging at the best of times, yet Nikos always looks after every one of his customers. We've used the bar in the morning for breakfast, mid-morning for a coffee, lunchtime for lunch, mid-afternoon for cocktails, early evening for cocktails, and late night partying too! Every time, the place comes up trumps! Look forward to catching up with the Ostraco...

Ostrako is an absolute gem in Plakias. The view alone is worth the visit, but it’s the breakfast that keeps me coming back - great portions, delicious food, plus fresh orange juice and coffee included. Easily the best value in town!
