No culinary extravaganza but nice atmosphere. The food is ok, we had a tomahawk steak of pork and a seafood pizza and a fish soup. The fish soup was very delicious and it seemed “home made”. The steak was good but nothing special. The seafood pizza was a huge portion, with thin dough but barely any real seafood on it.(only a few shrimps and some slices of sardines).
The staff was making a great effort to be as friendly as possible which was nice. They had a good mood. But they were not very attentive. I specifically told the waiter to serve me the glass of rose after the soup, still it was the first thing served. The other waiter had troubles placing the plates in the table, making the soup almost spill and cover the spoon that came along the plate soak in the soup. Also when the other dishes arrived, it appeared to be a surprise that the placement plates were on the table making us help the waiter to put the dishes on the table.
The experience was still nice. The restaurant has good atmosphere with a slight vintage vibe. Overall I would give 3.5 stars but if I have to choose between 3 or 4 it...
Read moreHighly recommend Kri Kri. We were a group of 6 friends, 3 couples, who all live on Crete and chose this taverna whilst on a day out in Plakias. It just looked really nice, and we were hungry! The service was very good, and we were offered separate menus according to our language (we are a mix of Swedish, English and Greek). It’s a slight cut above the normal tourist taverna, without being at all pompous. Very relaxed and of course a fantastic setting. We each had a different dish, and all commented on how delicious and tasty the food was. Only 4 stars as the minor gripe was the chairs weren’t comfortable after a couple of hours – but I think some places do that to turn around more covers! When we left the restaurant was pretty-much full, and neighbouring places far from it, so I guess it must have a good local reputation. Thank you for looking after us and the...
Read moreThe food was hands down some of the best I've ever tasted. I especially loved the American dream cocktail, even though it was a tad too sweet. The chef's linguini in the oven was the best pasta I've ever had in a restaurant. The shrimps, lamb, and Pina colada my friends ordered were equally delicious.
However, I must admit that the service was a bit of a letdown. The staff seemed overwhelmed with the number of customers, and they weren't attentive to our needs. We had to repeat our order multiple times, and they charged us twice for the bread we didn't even eat, as well as for the water we didn't drink. Not the most customer-friendly approach.
As a tip for future customers, make sure to decline the water and bread right from the start if you don't want them. Despite the service hiccups, the incredible food is definitely...
