Our week-long stay at Ventale left us with highly mixed feelings. The positives include the really quiet and peaceful surrounding of the hotel, which is perfect for relaxing by the pool or by the beach. The scenery is from a postcard. The hotel and the rooms are modern and elegant. The staff is very friendly, professional and are always ready to help. The beach is equipped with comfortable sun beds, perfect for enjoying a day at the beach. Unfortunately, that is where the positives end. The biggest let-down of the stay is the food, which was mediocre. From such a hotel, I would have expected much higher quality. However, 90% of the food were not home-made, the salads were uninviting, the desserts were all industrially made and were inedible, the warm foods were not really warm and often dry, the kiwis were served raw, the list could go on. The stay included two free dinners at the a la carte restaurant, however, the menu was so succinct and the food so average that one visit was sufficient. It should be noted that regardless of the premium price of the hotel, the drinks are not included in the half-board (not even alcohol-free). For lunch, the hotel sells food via its beach bar. However, the food is as mediocre there as in the buffet and a la carte restaurant, and double the price compared to the local restaurants around the hotel. Unfortunately, during our stay, we caught a norovirus, like many other guests of the hotel. While the hotel is very clean, and cleaners are cleaning daily, norovirus requires specific disinfection protocols with bleach, which the hotel did not seem follow. Only when it was clear that several guests had contracted the virus, did we smell bleach in our room after the daily cleaning, and did hand sanitizers were placed around the hotel. Although, the norovirus had been going around in the area for several weeks, the staff did not warn us about it on our arrival, only after we contracted it. If guests would be notified at arrival, they could take additional precautions to protect themselves from it. Lastly, the location of the hotel is rather remote and can be considered suitable only if you are coming to relax by the beach or the pool. If you are looking for other activities, I would look for a hotel in another area as there are limited options for activities nearby the hotel. The hotel organizes some gym and yoga classes however, these are advertised only briefly at the reception and thus, easy to overlook, while the indoor and outdoor gyms are rather small. Overall, I feel that the hotel did not live up to its 5 stars. I have had better experience from hotels...
Read moreWhile the hotel's amenities and services provide an excellent foundation for a relaxing holiday, our experience also included several significant areas for improvement.||Positive Experiences:|The hotel's strengths lie in its peaceful location and its elegant, modern facilities. The reception was warm and welcoming, and the complimentary arrival drink along with the convenient airport transfer made for a pleasant first impression. A particularly charming addition was the private in-room pool, which offered a luxurious opportunity for a refreshing dip—though the water temperature could have been slightly warmer.|The friendly staff deserves praise for their helpfulness and attitude. The tranquility also extended to the private beach area, where sun loungers invited guests to unwind in perfect silence. This makes the location ideal for a complete escape and relaxation.||Areas for Improvement:|Unfortunately, the experience was not without its drawbacks. The loud noises from the pools and hallways at night and in the mornings disturbed our rest, undermining the benefit of the hotel's peaceful setting. The lack of thorough cleaning was a major disappointment, especially given the reported stomach bug in the area, which we contracted shortly after our arrival. Poor hygiene is a serious issue that contradicts the hotel's luxurious image.|The biggest drawback, however, was the quality of the food. Dinner was, at best, mediocre and in no way lived up to the hotel's star rating. The heavy reliance on pre-made products left much to be desired in terms of quality. The only dish that consistently pleased was the pizza, served nightly. Furthermore, drinks were not included with dinner and had to be purchased separately. This was a significant disappointment after having already spent a substantial amount on the reservation itself.||Tips for Fellow Travelers:|As there is little to do in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, I recommend exploring the local excursion options. It's possible to purchase tickets for three different trips organized by the Talos company directly from the hotel. I can personally highly recommend the "Wine & Olive oil" tour, which was one of the highlights of our trip. More excursions are available at the Talos kiosk located in front of the...
Read moreWe visited in late June 2025 and overall this is a great hotel, when I list cons below these are relatively minor issues and may be more/less important depending on what you’re after.||Pro:||- Never felt overly busy, no issues getting loungers and a general feeling of exclusivity.|- Staff were fantastic throughout, very attentive, professional and of high quality.|- Views of the sea/mountains are outstanding, the location is a big plus.|- Very clean and well looked after hotel with modern high quality rooms.|- Decent amount of locals shops within 5-10 mins walking distance.|- Air con is good and not centrally controlled.|- Entertainment in the evenings doesn’t go on too late and the impact of the noise is minor. |- Food general of high quality (caveat below)||Con:||- We stayed in a prestige room, which was excellent, it came with a private pool which was of a good size… however…. The depth of the pool was just over a metre and even though we had good weather throughout it felt ice cold for most of the stay, making it borderline unusable. The pool is such a feature of the room I felt this was a let down, as we often had to use the main heated pool (which doesn’t have the fantastic views of the private pool) as our pool was way too cold.|- Whilst food was of generally good quality the selection sometimes felt lacking, especially in the evening. Some of this is no doubt a result of the hotel being smaller so naturally there being less choice, but it’s worth considering if you’re a bit picky with food.|- On half board you get plenty of complementary drinks for breakfast, tea, coffee, orange juice and flavoured water ~ in the evening however there really no do plenty options. |- For a hotel of this quality the gym felt like an after thought and only had a small handful of machines. The room is on the lower level and has no windows, which considering the views on offer here feels like a missed opportunity.|- The spa was nice, but fairly basic and expensive.|||Would I recommend the hotel? Yes I would, overall it’s a very nice place with excellent staff with a modern high quality feel, it’s just worth considering the con’s above, which may in fact not be an issue for many, in which case you won’t be...
