Luca Mare — Hotel in Municipality of Central Corfu and Diapontia Islands

If you want to ruin your vacation, congratulations — you’ve just found the perfect hotel. Luca Mare is by far the worst place I have ever stayed, and that’s saying something.

The staff and owners are not just rude — they’re openly hostile. Their main hobby seems to be inventing reasons to steal your deposit, like accusing you of having “wet towels” or “dirty sheets” (in a hotel, of all places!). Speaking of accusations, one owner actually screamed vulgar insults at a 17-year-old guest in front of everyone, accusing him of theft. Professionalism at its finest.

The location is miserable, the pool hours are laughable, and the bar shuts down at 6 PM — yes, 6 PM, because who on vacation would ever want a drink in the evening, right? When the bar is open, your bartender is basically a kid, the drinks menu is a joke, and the cocktails are either unavailable, disgusting, or absurdly overpriced. Pick your poison.

The rooms are no better. You’re charged a ridiculous price for a space where air conditioning is rationed like it’s a luxury from the future. Don’t expect comfort — expect rules, restrictions, and disappointment.

Oh, and don’t bother speaking English. The owners simply won’t. That would require effort, and effort is clearly not part of the business model here.

To sum it up: Luca Mare is overpriced, mismanaged, and insulting to anyone unfortunate enough to stay here. Zero stars. In fact, giving them even one star would be charity. Ni ga...

I stayed here for 5 days during my graduation trip. The hotel itself looks nice, but the location is terrible. The biggest problem, however, was the staff – especially the owners.

They keep your deposit if towels or bedsheets are dirty (for example, in cases of menstruation stains). Absolutely outrageous. You’re not allowed to take hotel towels to the hotel pool – and to make it worse, the pool can only be used until 8 p.m. The owner claimed there were trash bins “everywhere,” but in reality there were barely any. She accused the room next to ours of stealing a TV remote that wasn’t even there and charged them the deposit. The owner yelled at our animator and at kids as if they were animals. Completely unacceptable. The bar in front of the hotel is awful – drinks are served by a 10-year-old boy, including alcohol (!!). - - They had no idea what a Hugo Spritz was, and when we ordered vodka with juice, they poured it into a shot glass and charged €4.

To sum it up: the experience with the owners was horrible. They are rude, arrogant, and pick fights with children. This was supposed to be a fun and memorable trip, but the hotel management made it stressful instead. Stay away...

This hotel was a last minute change due to change in circumstances so we weren’t sure what to expect.||I’m well travelled and have never been anywhere where the owners are so friendly, kind & helpful nothing is to much trouble and if they can help they will they really are a lovely family & work very hard to ensure your comfortable & have everything you need. ||The cleaner is such a lovely lady she works so hard everywhere is spotless.|Our room was cleaned everyday & bedding changed twice during our 8 day stay. |The rooms are exactly what you see on the pictures yes they are very basic but it’s clean & comfortable it’s a very quiet & chilled atmosphere.||We hired a car it was a great base to go and explore the island. ||Locally there are plenty of lovely restaurants we had so many lovely meals. ||The owners and staff are what make this a lovely...
