The first and the biggest thing I have to mention here is that with this accommodation you don't just get the room but also a great host, Lena! We arrived a bit later than the agreed time (we even moved the time once) and Lena had no issues with it, and she patiently waited for us. Even though we arrived around 10PM she was more than happy to run us through everything she thought we would need to know about the neighbourhood, Chania, and the surroundings and with all our questions this lasted up until 12AM :) In addition to being a fantastically positive and charismatic person she is also a great cook and has amazing olive oil! She left homemade Cretan pastries, chocolate cream, honey, and limoncello (no need to say but they were amazing!) for us. The apartment is very well equipped, very clean, and has everything to make you feel at home even for longer stays. In addition, internet connection is great and there is a small table you could use to work if needed as well as a big balcony for sunny days. She was available throughout our stay with suggestions where to go and what to try (you should listen to her suggestions as they were all a hit for us, especially nearby homemade food from Mamas and a small secret caffe :) ). We really enjoyed our stay at Lena's place and we will definitively come back when we plan Chania as our next...
Read moreI came home from a beautiful holiday in Chania, me and my friend stayed at Lena´s apartment, where we really felt like home. On the day of arrival Lena, who is a very friendly and kind person waited for us and provided us food, snacks and also local drink of Chania, which tastes very good, similar to "Raki". Lena was very welcoming and she provided us with everything we needed for a perfect holiday, also with the recommendations what to visit, where to eat, where to order food, ... She also had her home made olive oil in her kitchen, which I liked very much (Crete is known for olive oil and her olive oil is very good!). The appartment is spacious, it has a big balcony, which we liked a lot (great place to chill, to eat breakfastand enjoy the evenings). Lena even offered us to come and change the bed sheets and towels, which was very nice. The apartment kitchen has everything, also the bathroom, one big plus is that a parking space is in front of the building and is covered, so it protects the car from the sun and heat. The location of the appartment is very good, you can reach the city center and the old town on foot. To reach it even faster, we drove with our car about 4 minutes to Villa Koundouros, where a free parking is possible on the street. We were very happy with our trip to Chania, thank you Lena for...
Read moreWe stayed at Lena’s home for 7 days and it was a great place. 1 bedroom+studio, so enough space for 2. The home was equipped with everything you need. We also could enjoy a nice terrace overlooking the district.
It never got hot at home so we never had to use air conditioning.
A big plus was private parking, as we rented a car.
Lena was a great host and provided us with everything: gave us advice on what to visit/eat, left us home made goods and even brought us local orange pie.
We felt safe in this area. There were also nice shops and cafes, though mostly we drove around to the beaches around Crete and Chania.
The only drawback could be the soundproof (i am a light sleeper). We had some loud neighbours on the first night, but thankfully later they calmed down.
I highly recommend Lena’s place for your holiday! You will...
