Best location I could imagine in my dreams: There is a sweet romantic bay right in front of the rooms, with a view on the bay, if you pay for it like we did. Plus, there is a bay walkway to the left taking you to a sweet stone quai with a ladder leading into turquoise water to dive and snorkel in. The room was ok too. But here come the big BUTs (with one t only):
We were there in summer 2022. They only told us how the AC works when we explicitly asked for it on the second day. We almost died at 40 degrees outside on the first night. Ofc, you have to pay extra for AC. How unprofessional is it to not tell people about the possibility of AC when temperatures are at 40 degrees?
Breakfast and dinner were included. However, I have never had breakfast and lunch at this pathetic level, anywhere in the world. You would get wrinkled tomato and cucumber slices and one kind of cheese slice for breakfast, together with stale sandwich slices. There is water and coffee too. Period! The waitresses would typically shoot evil looks at you and act like they wished you gone. Maybe they just didn't like us being there right at 8 o'clock in the morning when it officially opened. Dinner was a random dish (not a buffet) so you had to take what you got. That kind of worked since we're not vegetarians and don't have any food intolerances. But on the third day of our 1-week stay they served us true garbage: What looked like chicken really was artificially engineered meat slices that appeared sewn into one piece and tasted like plastic. I have never (ever) had anything more disgusting in my whole life of around 40 years and I've been to Africa, the US, and many places in Europe. It's even more disappointing to see that customers ordering à la carte get really good stuff while sitting right next to you. We never ate there again for dinner even though it was free for us and - as a little punishment - would also not order à la carte there. We just spent our money elsewhere. Moreover, the waitress for dinner was very arrogant, with her nose up very high while putting said low-quality food on our table. Why do waitresses think they're special? I love nice waitresses but I hate waitresses who think that carrying (bad) food to a table is a remarkable feat. It's not! Unless you're nice. But she NEVER was!
Altogether, you better rent a room next door where a guy whose mother is Austrian does a really good job about making people feel welcome. He's also got a cute dog which roams the street and who is known to everyone. We ate there a few times and wished we had known about his...
Read moreWe stayed 4 nights in this apartment-hotel, with half-board (breakfast and dinner included). It was the worse experience I have ever had in a hotel in Greece! Absolutely nothing worked. To start, they did NOT have a very basic amenity, namely, soap (for washing the hands and also not for showering, which one might expected from a so called 3-stars hotel). Like, how come in a pos-covid era people do not offer soap in a hotel bathroom?! Second, the shower head was broken, water coming from the side only and hot water either did not come out at all or it took at least 5 minutes to come out. You would spend the first minutes trying to get used to the (very cold ) water. The shower cube was incredible small and the shower curtain stuck to your body while you showered, making the whole experience a nightmare. From the water faucet came a tin line of water and it was so loose, I was scared it would just come out every time I washed my hands ( with the soap I brought along). There were two towel holders, one was broken. It would come out every time one tried to hang the towel. The fridge also did not work and smelled moldy. We wanted to cool beer / water, but it was impossible. Air-Conditioning was a room decoration with no remote control or switch in sight. So forget about that too! In 4 nights they changed the towels only once. There was a half roll of toilet paper when we arrived, which did not last very long. We asked for another one and they gave us yet another half roll. At some point in the evening we had to use tissue paper, because there was no reception and no phones in the rooms for us to ask for anything. The breakfast was super lame, but it did not bother us much. The only annoying thing is that it was served very late, at 8:30am (in theory, we arrived there at this time, and things were not ready yet). Dinner was tasty and the wine ( not included) was cheap and delicious, but they never told you what the dish was, so it was a new surprise every night, however, I found this a bit annoying, specially for people with allergies / vegetarian / lactose intolerant. They could have presented us with 2 choices at least. The waitress was always so moody, like she was doing us a favor. Lastly, WI-FI did not work at all. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL/STUDIO!! The only good thing was the restaurant (dinner meal) at the beach and proximity to the next beach area (paid btw!). There were many many beautiful hotels at the Stalida beach. Book early and you can get a nice place for...
Read moreIf I would give 0 stars, that would be it. We would have stayed in the studio apartment but did not stay one night there because it was a nightmare. We arrived and there is not even a reception... just had to call a lady and she would bring me the key... first of all I had to call several times until I reached her. As a tourist calling a foreign country number this is costly already. So that was the first point which was unprofessional. The apartment is right behind a road with many bars that ply music- NOISY!!||It was dirty, smelly and in the tiny bathrooms there still was the bucket and cleaning mop (so we are also expected to clean the apartment as well?!)||But the best wo come: the room was full of MOTHS (little flies that will damage you cloths), the smell was very humid..., there was no table to have breakfast inside, it was outside on the "terrace" which is pretty much the little alley with plastic chair and table. Privacy? nop- that is the alley where all other people who live in this area pass by to go on the beach and the rack for your swim wear and towels is also there- so they probably get stolen if you just leave them there. Oh not to forget is the nice view to the trash bin- exactly what you want for your holidays by the beach||Did you see the picture with the sunbeds and umbrellas at the beach? That would be nice but not the reality. just 5 old sunbeds stacked on each other. No umbrellas- when I asked the answer was "we do not have any personell to take care of them".||So back to the MOTHS: first we were told, that this is normal in Corfu... no it isn't. my mom has a house there without moths and last year we stayed in another hotel without moths. Anyways we decided to sleep at my mom's house for a night since the lady said they'd clean it and tomorrow we can come back. We did and do you think the room was clean or free from moths? of course not! nothing changed. We complained again and at this point they started to get very rude accusing us of opening the door, this is how the moths got it... we did not even stay there, why would be open the door or windows?!!||||WORST EXPERIENCE WE HAD- did not stay one night there!!||Luckily, we went around ans asked for free rooms and found a very nice clean one with seas view, balcony and less than half the price!!!! I think it was called canal...
