My wife and I have been to Maistrali a total of three times for dinner and once for breakfast, and each visit has been a pure delight. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by the elegant and peaceful atmosphere. The restaurant's beautiful setting right by the sea makes it the perfect place for a special and romantic evening. The service was exceptional, making our night truly memorable. George and Nikola were incredibly professional and attentive, ensuring every detail was perfect. We also received such a warm welcome from the kind woman with the beautiful blue eyes at the entrance—her hospitality set a lovely tone for the entire evening. The food itself was a highlight. must-visit in Stalida for both food and sunsets! This restaurant has one of the best views in town right by the sea, perfect for sunset dinners. The view of the sun setting over the pink-tinted mountains is simply breathtaking and makes the experience even more special.

The food is incredibly fresh and the best I’ve had in the area. There’s a wide variety on the menu, so I really recommend coming more than once to try different dishes it’s worth it! My personal favorites were the moussaka, cheese saganaki, shrimp pasta, and chicken souvlaki, all delicious and perfectly prepared.

It’s also a great spot for drinks. The music is relaxed, so you can enjoy your cocktail while still having a good conversation. The cocktails themselves are fantastic and definitely a highlight.

2024 Update: we've returned to Maistrali with each visit to Creta and will continue to do so. The food is always excellent, Giorgos and the staff are welcoming and delightful, and the vibes cannot be beat.

2022 review: We've been here twice and will keep coming back! The food is excellent. We started with halloumi on pita, which was savory and velvety. Their mixed grill was more than enough for two to share - I would have taken a photo but we dug right in! The chocolate souffle with strawberry ice cream and whipped topping was truly the best I've had. If the weather is right, get a table by the water and listen to the waves roll in as you dine.
