Lotus Rise Hotel — Hotel in Municipality of Chersonissos

The location is probably the best part of this hotel — it’s right next to the beach, so if that’s your main priority it can be convenient. Breakfast was decent, the showers were modern with good air conditioning, and a couple of the reception staff were welcoming.

However, there are several downsides. The hotel is right next to a club and it’s extremely noisy almost 24/7. For us, this was manageable as we stayed out late most nights, but if you’re looking for a relaxing holiday this place is not for you. The pool is very small, rooms are poorly insulated, Wi-Fi is slow, and there’s no option for dinner or lunch.

Our experience was also overshadowed by how we ended up here. We had booked Indigo Inn 6 months in advance, only to be transferred here on arrival due to an “electrical problem” at Indigo (which we later learned had happened months earlier). Instead of supporting us, staff simply said “just have a good holiday” — which felt dismissive after we’d paid for a much higher standard. After a terrible and frustrating experience at Indigo Inn Casa—where we were misled about an “electrical issue” only to later find out they had overbooked and moved us to a much lower-rated sister hotel—we were honestly disheartened and ready to give up on our trip.||Thankfully, everything changed when we arrived at the lotus hotelFrom the moment we stepped through the door, the staff and manager went above and beyond to turn our situation around. They were not only welcoming but genuinely empathetic to what we had just been through. The manager personally took the time to listen, ensure we were comfortable, and offered an upgrade without hesitation.||The staff treated us like valued guests—not just another booking. From the spotless rooms and excellent facilities to the warm hospitality at every turn, it truly felt like we were in good hands. Stayed 4 nights at Lotus Rise. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t meet 4-star expectations.

Cleanliness: The room wasn’t as clean as expected. The bed sheets had an unpleasant odour; to the hotel’s credit, they replaced them promptly. The balcony and chairs looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned between guests. The shower drain/cover was damaged, and after the second day the water stopped draining properly.

Noise & room allocation: Our room was opposite the stairs and next to the elevator and seemed poorly insulated. We were woken around 3–4 a.m. by returning guests and again around 8 a.m. by early risers/staff. After two nights we asked to change rooms because we weren’t sleeping well. Reception said other rooms would be similarly noisy and that the hotel was fully booked, even though availability still appeared online. We never received any follow-up, which felt impolite.

Service: Being told that “it’s noisy everywhere” isn’t reassuring, if true, it suggests a wider soundproofing issue. Given the price, the service and cleanliness did not match a...
