We have spent nine wonderfully relaxing days in this 5-star family-friendly resort. It is a relatively new hotel, so I did not expect perfect service but hope to see improvements made in the years to come. I still gave 5 stars because of the following reasons: 1. The layout of the hotel is absolutely beautiful and offers 2 buffet style restaurants for dinner and breakfast, as well as 2 a la carte restaurants which require a reservation with a member of the guest relations team (who are super friendly by the way). They also have a street food style bar where you can grab lunch close to the beach. The two main buffet style restaurants are also open for lunch at different time windows. Some people complain about the food in their reviews but you got to see the size of the hotel and how many guests they are serving. We really enjoyed everything we ate, and also enjoyed the opportunity to eat at the Asian and Steakhouse restaurant. 2. Wonderfuy designed pool area and comfortable sun chairs. Unfortunately, although the hotel prohibits it there are still many who reserve chairs. Because of that we were not able to have a spot at the pool that had shade for our 2 year old without playing the same game, which we absolutely detested. But shade is important with a toddler! I would encourage the hotel to reinforce their pool rules and prevent sun chairs to be reserved for hours without the people showing up. We have only seen them do it once in the 9 days - consistency is key. 3. There is a water park closeby (at Lyttos Beach their sister hotel), so if the quiet pool area gets too dull, you can change it up and go to the water park where there are many different slides and attractions. It is a little bit dated, something dirty (kids throwing their food on the ground) and cannot be compared to the style of Lyttos Mare, but it does the job for a few hours and does not cost you a dime. 4. Our room was absolutely beautiful. We had booked a room with a private pool and seaview. During check-in we got upgraded to a junior suite with private pool on the bottom level overlooking the ocean. We were in awe with it (my pictures speak for themselves I think). The cleaning personnel was impeccable and super friendly. We have heard that many people received upgrades during check-in which is always a nice start to a vacation. As mentioned previously, it is a new hotel and there were a few hiccups. 1. The animation was not good. We have stayed in many 5 star hotels over the years but this animation was the worst. The crew seemed incredibly young and it felt at times that they were on a school trip enjoying themselves other than engaging with the guests. We are not the only ones who seem to have this opinion because any other guest we met and talked to stated the same. 2. The aforementioned sun chair issue. 3. The beach was not usable for us because of the strong winds, waves and tides. It seems to be a more windy side of the island. So if you want to hang out at the beach you might want to pick a hotel close to Chania. However, the pool area at Lyttos Mare is so gorgeous, we walked up and down the beach but did not miss bathing there. All in all, we would definitely come back and have already recommended the hotel in our circle of friends and family.

We were staying at the Lyttos Mare for our Honeymoon and had a wonderful vacation. The Staff of the whole Hotel was very nice and always helpful when we needed something. Also everyting was well kept and the Hotel was very clean and well maintained. We arrived quite early and asked for early Check-In in Advance. When we arrived the room was not quite ready yet but after a short walk to the beach it was already ready which we greatly appreciate. We booked a Junior Suite with Private Pool which was amazing. We also received Cake as a Honeymoon gift which we greatly appreciate and are very thankful for the kind gesture. The Room was clean and well maintained. The Bett was comfy and we enjoyed our Privat Pool. The only thing I think is worth mentioning, is that the pool Water is extremely salty and can cause irritation especially on freshly shaved skin. My Husband had a bit of a problem with the pool water because of this but funnily not with the seawater at the beach. The Beach was also very clean and we loved the comfy beds there a lot. Make sure to bring shoes for the beach as the sand gets very hot and there are some rocks in the water. Foodwise we liked the food from the Main Restaurant Buffet and the Greek Themed Buffet the most. They had a wide selection of dishes and wonderful Bread and sweets. Breakfast was our Favorite as I loved the bougatsa a lot. But lunch and dinner was always good too with daily changeing themes for the evening. The only thing which was not very good was the Ice cream - It was not very creamy and also had lots of ice crystals in it. I would recommend sticking to the different sweets and fruits available at the buffet. At the Greek Buffet themed Restaurant my Husband loved that he was able to choose a fish to be freshly prepared. This is a really nice additon and I would recommend you would maybe consider doing this with meats as well. The Asian inspired Buffet was OK, My Husband loved the Sushi there but for me the fried rice tasted a bit like convenience food (Maggi / Knorr) and not really authentic. Also the sweets offered there where mostly the same as at the buffet, which are very good tastewise but for a "Asian" Restaurant I hoped they would offer Asian inspired desserts like Matcha cake and so on. We went once to the A la carte Steakhouse which has an amazing view over the whole Hotel. The Foods was very well presented and tasted very good but it was a little bit of a shame that with the main course you are not able to choose your side dish as they are fixed. I would appreciate it if there would be some sort of selection to choose from. I think this would greatly improve the experience. Overall we had an amazing time and I would book this Hotel again and I can only recommend it.

we have just returned from this hotel and we are so disappointed with our stay. We booked months ago and we were so looking forward to staying due to the reviews however this hotel isn’t everything it’s made out to be. We booked and paid for a private pool which cost us £1,000. little did we know it was salt water which we did not want or enjoy. the salt is very thick and dried all over the decking and your clothing We booked a room for three. myself, partner and daughter. the large bed was super comfy however my daughters was rock solid. i don’t know how they expect anyone to sleep on it. when we arrived we were told they would send a maid to turn down our daughters bed as it’s mainly a sofa, maid never turned up whilst on the point of maids, they need to recruit new ones. they are SO rude and don’t speak any english. they knock on the door when it says do not disturb on it. my partner opened the door and said no thank you and the maid tried pushing past my partner to come in. both me and my daughter were in bed unwell which is why we put DND. they also come in without knocking, which again no apologies for or anything. my partner went to reception as our daughter caught a sick bug on the second night and requested some more bags for her and toilet rolls. Was told yes absolutely, they never turned up. you need to get to breakfast early or there will be no clean tables or any food left. so i dread to think what the “late limited” breakfast includes the food is atrocious - VERY limited and it’s the same stuff every day. they advertise a kids “buffet” which consists of the same 4 things every day. they do themed nights but the food looks terrible. there are no food options during the day apart from the street food place which you have to take a 3 day camel hike to get to you. and if you don’t like this you have to buy stupidly overpriced crisps because that’s all that’s available at the shop. you are left to your own devices. no signs ANYWHERE for anything. They have no organisation for what shows are on etc. you are completely in the dark. they have an app to say what entertainment was on but again this was not shown on there. However, the kids mini disco and evening shows were brilliant, the dancers were incredible. beware €10 a night accommodation tax per night. they charge this at check in we decided to spend more on a holiday that seemed worth it, but by day 3 we could not wait to come home. it is definitely not a 5 star resort, i wouldn’t even give it a 3, we will never be returning and if you are looking for a 5 star luxury resort, i would suggest going elsewhere! you’ll get what you pay for

I'll start by saying we only got back from this holiday on June 17th after a great 2 week stay, and by June 20th we had already booked our next 2 week stay for July 26. It's that good!||The first point I must make regarding hotel itself is about the excellent staff. It doesn't matter if you stay in the nicest hotel in the world, if the staff are impolite/rude/unprofessional, it WILL ruin your holiday. The staff here are amazing and the main factor in us returning next year. Reception staff (including bellboys) are very polite and professional, restaurant staff the same and very hard working and Giorgios the main restaurant manager, is an extremely nice, helpful and engaging guy, always smiling and chatting.|As we spent most of our days around the Laguna pools and bar, and nights around the same bar, we had a great time engaging with the staff there. A special mention to my friend Manolis, the daytime bar manager, who I got on great with engaging in Greek as best I could (and will be upset if he's not there next year), and also to Alexa from the night time staff, such a happy, smiley and engaging girl, not only with us but everyone in the bar. The rest of the staff there also - Maria, Vasilis, Tellis, Yasin & Parim. Apologies if I've missed anybody. And at the lobby bar - Nicos, a very nice young man. I hope all of these staff are paid above the average, as like I mentioned, they are majorly responsible for guests coming back!||Having stayed at Lyttos Beach 2 years ago and loving it, we were really excited about staying at Lyttos Mare and we weren't disappointed! This hotel is absolutely stunning, which you get the feel of as soon as you enter the immaculate reception area. This carries on throughout every area of the whole place. The rooms, grounds, restaurants, bars and pool areas are all modern, well maintained and kept as clean as is physically possible throughout the entire day by extremely hard working staff.||We had an Exclusive Superior Room with pool or sea view which as it turns out had a pool and a sea view which was great. The beds were very comfortable, bathroom clean and modern, great tea and coffee amenities, iron/ironing board (a must) and ample wardrobe space. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard.||The main restaurant is well laid out with a fantastic range of food and ample seating. Like any all-inclusive buffet restaurant, especially with young children, it could be chaotic at peak times but the staff work so hard to clean up and re-lay all tables ready for next guests. We ate at the steak house once which was very nice but the standout restaurant is definitely the Asian buffet which we ate at twice. Every single dish here was absolutely gorgeous. The wine served at every bar and restaurant here is very good quality and the beer is also pretty good.||The pool areas are about the cleanest we've ever seen and the quality of the sunbeds are amazing, so comfortable. I've read other reviews regarding anger towards the reserving of sunbeds in morning and I totally agree. I must admit to being one of those who are out early getting ours, but I stay there with them. Every morning I lay there watching people put towels down at 07:00 and not return until 10:30/11:00. This is totally unacceptable and it was satisfying to see that during our last few days, the bell boys coming out with a trolley and removing towels.|The pool areas around the restaurant and Laguna Bar are beautifully lit at night with with multi-coloured fountains in operation.||The entertainment was good with shows on at the ampitheatre and varying live acts at the Laguna Bar, the best of which was a great saxaphonist. I also need to mention Sophie from the entertainments team, a lovely girl who we chatted to multiple times around the pool during the day and also at night as she was doing the rounds. One of the team, a Polish guy, was also a very accomplished magician who tried his hardest to engage with our autistic son (much appreciated), and Kiko, who was hilarious! ||This was the best family holiday ever and on returning home we've never had the holiday blues like it, hence the almost instant re-booking. Thanks Lyttos, and please retain all of your staff, especially Manolis and Alexa! See...

We visited Lyttos Mare with our family (me, my husband and 4 year old son) and my sister's family (husband and teenage kids) in July 2025. The hotel were great and placed us in rooms next to each other which made a huge difference as 2 of our kids have disabilities. ||First impressions: Incredibly warm welcome into a calm, clean, airy hotel. Everything was handled as we relaxed with a drink in the large reception lounge. Porters took all of our bags to the rooms and were shocked when we tipped them. Really incredible service from the start. ||Location: 30 mins from the airport, very pleasant drive to get there. No town centres within walking distance but that wasn't a priority for us. is it possible to walk down the beach to other hotels and supermarkets. ||Food: Great range of food, clearly labelled for allergies. There was a vegan area every day which helped a member of our family out. The greek taverna and asian restaurants were absolutely excellent and served the most delicious food. The range on offer in the buffet restaurant for all three meals was impressive. Waiting staff were so warm and attentive. Shout out to Kalia at the Taverna who was such a sweetheart with our child who has lots of challenges with food. The staff really are a level above here. The beachside snack bar was also excellent. I loved never having to think about where to get yummy food. ||Facilities: Amazing pool for the youngsters. My four year old went from a nervous paddler to throwing himself down waterslides by the end of the week. He is still speaking about the childs pool with pirate slide now months later. The splashpark / waterpark areas were great fun and offered a lovely place to escape to each day as they were 5 / 10 min walk away. The minimart on site is so well stocked and the staff are attentive and in the case of the man who works from 3pm onward, absolutely hilarious and charming. ||Beach: The location is phenomenal - direct access to the beach with good food, drinks and ice creams right there. (Bar staff here were all so pleasant and jolly - they had the holiday spirit the entire time and lifting everyones moods). The sunbeds were incredibly comfortable and the sea was perfect for young children to swim - hardly any waves the whole time we stayed. The only issue we had was on our last day when all of the beds were taken up with towels in the morning. We ended up putting towels on the sand in front of the water - without any shade. It was a shame as most beds weren't visited in the two hours we were there. This is a guest issue rather than hotel though and I unfortunately noticed a section of guests assuming that spaces were private and for them rather than shared resources for everyone to enjoy. ||Rooms: Spotlessly clean, spacious, soundproofed from outside noise. We were opposite the next door hotels stage and with the balcony doors shut the noise was just ambient and totally fine. We had a family room with split spaces and it met our needs perfectly. Shower was perfect pressure and I loved the way it was a waterfall / handheld split. ||Vibe: The evenings were just wonderful. perfect temperature. Great food. So spacious and airy with lots of space to wander, relax etc.. i never felt it was overly busy. The nighttime entertainment was chill in the Mare hotel and full of energy in Lyttos Beach so you could decide what you'd like to do. Every evening we went for a family beach walk to watch the stunning sunsets. ||You can tell that the management of this hotel takes guest satisfaction very seriously and take pride in their hotel. We had an incredible time at Lyttos Mare and...

We have a very special and great experience at Lyttos Mare. Since our arrival until check-out, we have enjoyed every moment. The hotel is very big and lovely. It is very nice to always go walk in the hotel. There are many pools in different depths – notice that all pools are light salty water, including the pool rooms. Near the mini market there are few shops, which you may find anything of clothes, food, or pool games for the kids. Near the mini market is the play room with arcade games, different kind of games and lovely to have family time there. Pay attention that these games need 1 euro to play for most of them.

Beach is wonderful, the water temperature was fine and very close to the snack bar Ilias and all the guys at the lobby are very lovely and helpful.

We had a room with pool, which we used it almost every day. The balcony it great as well. Bed and pillow are comfort, the room was big and nice. The towel that we only needed to change has been changed daily. Free mini bar and coffee machine that filled with capsules every day.

You have different restaurants, we tried all of them and all are very good. The main restaurant under the lobby is excellent and has variety almost with everything on all meals of the day. Taverna restaurant is very good as well and has various foods and desserts. Snack bar is very nice to eat pizza or gyros during the day, especially if you are wet after swimming and need to eat something tasty with the kids. The Asian restaurant is included in all inclusive package, and need to be reserved earlier in order to eat there, the food was very tasty and recommended. All the food was fresh and tasty!

Bars are awesome and have almost everything you want. Most of the drinks are included in all inclusive package. Giorgos at the lobby bars always welcome you with a great smile, Leonidas at the pool bar is always great to have a conversation with, loves what he does and a very friendly person. Finally, Nikolas at the rainbow always smiling and makes a great atmosphere to sit there at nights. These guys make your stay extra great!

The animation team are very lovely, Adrianna, Martina and all the other which I forgot their names, every day make hard work just to let you have fun and activities with almost everything you would like to do. Just have their weekly schedule and notice that some of them are making in the sister hotel Lyttos Beach. Keep up the great work all the animation team, you rock!

Finally, we recommend this hotel...
