We couldn’t recommend this hotel any higher, it was a fabulous trip and we look forward to returning! ||We returned back from a fabulous trip for my birthday a few weeks ago at the Paralos Venus Suites. We had the best time! We arrived late at night to wine and a lovely food platter in our room. The hotel is stunning, the reception staff are really lovely and very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble for the staff at the resort, they went out of their way to ensure you were having a lovely holiday. A big shout out to Georgio for making us giggle every day - his energy, fun attitude, and attentiveness, knowing exactly when to deliver a cocktail to our sun loungers! Maria made our lunches fabulous, even getting us up to join in on the Zorba on pool party day! And Alex made our evenings enjoyable with some fab cocktails! ||The food was incredible, a variety across the courses, very tasty and very well presented. I got a bottle of bubbles and pancakes delivered to me on my sun lounger by Georgio and Maria. |We had massages at the spa which were great with an extra 10 minutes as complimentary. We even got upgraded to a private pool room on our last day which meant we didn’t feel rushed to check out. ||The attention to detail at this hotel is second to none, from the app for booking the restaurant, the pillow menu, rooftop yoga, to the wine cellar and games room. ||The only negative was the swim up pool rooms don’t tend to get the sun (only one does throughout the day - 104). We were in 103 which only got the sun on part of the bed for an hour in the morning. This doesn’t help with the generally limited number of loungers available for all guests. The room was fabulous apart from that, the cleaners were friendly and the room was well kept throughout our stay. ||A big thank you to Georgio and Maria for really making our holiday, they were so kind, welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we were well looked after and enjoying our stay! We will definitely be back and we’ve been raving about it to our...
Read moreNice hotel, really nice and professional staff, the food in the restaurant is also very impressive. Rooms were comfortable, nicely decorated and generally very good, if not compact, although they lack any space for storage. There is a very nice pool and open bar area, an open air gym (weights mainly, no cardio) although getting a bed around the pool is near impossible since everybody pretty much "reserves" them with towels before breakfast or throughout the day and the hotel doesn't prevent it. If you want to guarantee some pool space, there are rooms available with private beds 'allocated' to the room. There is also an additional small cold pool with beds away from the main area. Staff are really excellent, professional/well trained and very friendly.
The only real downside is the location however, it's not the best and this is the only real drawback with this hotel. We unfortunately paid quite a bit extra for a sea view suite, only to get the view over the car park and wasteland you see in the photos (and we were at the top of the building!). But it was nice to sit out on the balcony in an evening. Annalipsi itself isn't a very exciting place to spend a week tbh, and you will need a car to visit places nearby to make the most of your holiday since there's pretty much nothing to do there in the "town" itself, and the nearest bus stop is a hike up to the main road in blazing heat. There is free hotel car parking here and plenty of nearby on street parking as well, since the car park only had places for 10 cars.
So in summary a really nice place, great staff and food, nice but compact rooms and a nice hotel as long as you can put up with the location. Tips - don't book a sea view room, go for one overlooking the courtyard/pool and save some money. If you really like lounging by the pool, get a room with an allocated bed outside the room next to the pool! Also, it's definitely worth having half board here since the food is very good (and expensive if choosing a la carte) and there's not much else closer by...
Read moreMy mum and I enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful week at the Paralos Venus Suites. We were welcomed by George who was incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful, and who also discreetly noticed it was my birthday and had a bottle of champagne waiting in our room for me, such a lovely surprise.
Our bags also magically appeared in our room which was lovely!
The staff were incredible, every one we passed or interacted with was so pleasant, and friendly. I would love to mention everyone as they all deserve credit, and especially Maria who remembered our room number and our coffee order. And Katarina who was wonderful at recommending wine after the wine tasting (which happens every Wednesday).
Breakfast was a combination of a la carte and buffet and was wonderful. The evening meals at the hotel were incredible, inventive and absolutely delicious.
We stayed in a junior suite which was tastefully decorated, very clean, the only recommendation to make it better would be more hooks & places to hang things! Hooks for towels, robes etc… and more hangers for the wardrobe. A small thing that I am only sharing to be helpful (and that would move my rating from exceptional to completely & utterly perfect!)
The pool area is beautiful and very chilled, the sunbeds are so comfortable, we didn’t want to move from them! And we didn’t have to, as we were served drinks and snacks at our sunbed.
The hotel was a short, less than 5 min walk, to the beach and other bars and restaurants. Analipsi is a lovely quiet place which is exactly what we were looking for.
We have a late check departure today (6:15pm) and are able to make use of the pool facilities in peace as our bags are taken care of, and there are lockers and showers for us to make use of, so we can properly enjoy the last day of our holiday too!
All in all we have had a lovely stay of Cretan warmth, hospitality and great food and wine! Adults only was a game changer for us, as much as we love kids, it was a joy to holiday in more of a peaceful setting....
