Kokkari Beach Hotel enjoys a prime location right by the sea in one of the most charming villages of Samos. The hotel is clean, and the location is great. The sea is beautiful, but the hotel is incredibly strict with rules; it honestly felt like a boarding school. Of course, every hotel can have some rules, but this level of control is unnecessary. After all, we’re staying at a hotel, not a military camp.

The woman in charge of breakfast was constantly watching and monitoring what people were eating and doing. She even commented when I toasted my bread a little too much. At the beach, even though all the tables were completely empty, i was sitting with my family and I moved to a second table because the sun was hitting my seat and I was told we couldn’t sit at two tables. Apparently, even in an empty space, you’re not allowed to use more than one table.

It’s disappointing that, despite receiving similar feedback in many reviews, they still haven’t changed this overly controlling attitude. In my opinion, a more guest-focused approach would make a big difference. Because of this experience, I’d think twice before recommending this...

LOCATION: 9 la struttura si trova a Kokkari, a 10 minuti a piedi dal centro, che si raggiunge con una bellissima camminata sulla spiaggia. Cittadina che abbiamo constatato essere la più carina ed animata dell'isola soprattutto la sera. Dà sulla strada al di là della quale si trovano dei ristorantini e subito dopo...il mare! É stato davvero piacevole svegliarsi e coricarsi con il suono delle onde. L'hotel é semplice, arredato in stile anni '80, ma carino e curato. La gestione é famigliare e le ragazze alla reception sono sempre gentili e disponibili e sapranno darvi tutte le informazioni di cui avrete bisogno. SERVIZI: 8 ben fornito di tutto quanto necessario. Le colazioni sono buone, ma andrebbero un pochino riviste e si potrebbe ampliare la proposta. A disposizione degli ospiti c'è una bella piscina esterna, dove é anche possibile fare colazione sui tavoli che la circondano. É presente un parcheggio gratuito a disposizione degli ospiti e in tutta la struttura é presente il Wi-Fi (anche se solamente nella hall il segnale é forte). Interessante il fatto che l'hotel sia convenzionato con un ristorante (Galazio) ed un bar (Taj Mahal) al di là della strada: per gli ospiti é possibile usufruire di 2 lettini ed un ombrellone al solo costo di una consumazione. Noi che abbiamo scelto il trattamento a mezza pensione abbiamo cenato al ristorante Galazio, convenzionato con l'hotel, che si trova dall'altro lato della strada e propone un menù fisso diverso ogni sera (piatti sempre abbondanti e gustosi, personale molto gentile e cordiale). La location del ristorante é meravigliosa, offre proprio i tavolini sulla spiaggia ed é magico cenare al tramonto con il rumore del mare. Unica nota negativa: l'aria condizionata si paga a parte ma noi ne abbiamo fatto a meno perché il clima greco ci ha offerto giornate calde ma secche e notti fresche. CAMERA: 6,5 senza infamia e senza lode la camera, semplice e sempre pulita. Per contro l'arredamento é un po' datato, il bagno un po' piccolo e la tendina della doccia é un po' inutile. Ci sono poche prese elettriche, e viene data in dotazione assieme alla chiave una sola carta magnetica che permette l'accensione della corrente nella camera, quindi non vi sarà possibile lasciare in carica apparecchi elettronici quando non sarete in camera. Purtroppo il letto, anche se dichiarato come matrimoniale, é in realtà formato da due letti singoli affiancati, ma molti comodi. In ogni camera é presente un frigorifero, sempre acceso, per poter refrigerare le vostre bevande; vi ricordo e sottolineo che sull'isola di Samos l'acqua del rubinetto NON È POTABILE. PREZZO: 8 senza scendere nei particolari della nostra spesa, anche perché abbiamo acquistato un pacchetto da un tour operator che comprendeva volo, soggiorno e trasferimenti vari, riteniamo che il rapporto qualità-prezzo sia assolutamente valido. Avendo girato tutta l'isola durante il nostro soggiorno mi sento di affermare che é una delle opzioni migliori per soggiornare...
