La Plage — Hotel in Municipality of Eastern Samos

First of all, you’re told to hang your hotel key in the unmanned reception when you're not in your room. Anyone could therefore enter your room and do whatever. Did not feel safe.|There were two separate very hard beds, with just as hard pillows. |No soap in the bathroom for washing your hands, and in the bathroom there was a shower without any shower curtains, so there was always 1cm of water on the bathroom floor at all times. |Very disgusting. The toilet paper holder located just beside the shower also got drenched because of this.|The AC was 9€ per night, but, the controller did not work for temp control so even with AC, the temp was stuck at 24 Celsius every night.|Power outlets, there were only two of them located at the entrance door and the door next to the bathroom door.||Last but not least, we had cockroaches running around on the floor. We arrived at La Plage one week ago. 35 degrees and for us from Norway it is to much!|Kokari is such a beautiful little village with cozy restaurants and little shops.|But la Plage is neither cozy of beautiful.|First we were told we didn't have a fan or AC on the room.. We slept bad the first night and we were covered in mosquito bites.|We contacted star tour to see if they could help us. They were not interested..|In the end we had a room with AC, but the bathroom and the room smells like mold and the cleaning of the room was bad.|In one week they changed the sheets 1 time.|The breakfast contains of 1 bread, 1 glass of "orange juice", marmalade and black coffee.. If you want anything you need to buy it at the supermarket..|The lady who own the hotel was pissed off at us for contacting star tour and complaining at the hotel. She told us if we didn't pay extra for AC she would call the cops. We never said we wouldn't pay, we hust didn't pay 1 day in advance before we left.|I do not recommend this hotel at all. Booket through StarTour/charter. Nice and silent location at the main street by the beach (20 meters walk to the beach). Clean and nice hotel with very friendly management; Maria with husband and mother. We enjoyed a lot meeting them and would not mind seeing them again! Serves limited continental breakfast (bread, butter, jam, coffee), but a fridge is available for your own supplies of spread/tomatos/beer etc. Lovely back yard with beautiful roses and hydrangea and a lemon tree. A minus for the bathroom which get all wet when you shower. Also, we would suggest to improve sleeping comfort with better mattresses and cushions. Aircondition is available in many rooms for an additional charge (like most places). There are grocery shops close by. Restaurants? Everywhere. Also souvenir shops, handicraft, car/motorcycle/ATV rental all around. The very touristic restaurant area in the bay/harbour is 500 meters off...
