From the start I had a good feeling about this place. I emailed an enquiry and had a prompt comprehensive friendly reply in English from a lady called Vicky. Our holiday marked an important anniversary and she took no end of trouble helping me choose a suitable room , sending pictures and various options. I was very impressed with her attitude and she continued to impress me on the run up to the holidays, ever helpful and informative. She was there to meet us and was clearly anxious that everything was to our liking. The room was lovely and overlooked the pool and gardens. Some reviews mentioned that the road was noisy, we hardly noticed it and enjoyed nothing but bird song and the occasional donkey bray. Wonderfully peaceful and quiet, well appointed rooms that are kept immaculate. Small basic kitchen with all you need. Myrtos was no where near as expensive as I thought the eurozone had become and we ended up eating out every night anyway at the endless excellent restaurants and cafes. Overall excellent. Myrtos is quite and laid back in May before the main summer visitors pour in from all over Greece and internationally. It's a great time to visit. Kastro studios are located just at the edge of the small pretty village. The gardens are full of citrus trees and gorgeous colourful plants and climbers. It's a short pleasant walk to the village shops and tavernas. The local people were very friendly and we found some fabulous places to eat and enjoy the odd excellent coffee. We sorted out hire cars with the hotel , by far the easiest option for travel to and from the resort. It's a very pleasant scenic drive from the airport. We come from Cornwall and it has the same laid back vibe as the place we live. If it had surf we would move there tomorrow. Kastro studios was the perfect base to enjoy our holiday from. I recommend it very highly and we will defiantly return. Vicky and the staff worked hard to ensure that we enjoyed our holiday and we were so impressed with them. Thanks to all at Kastro for a wonderful,...
Read moreI spent few days in Kastro and it really worked out to make myself very relaxed. The Kastro is a charming nice quite place in a small village in front of the sea. The place is very quite but still lively place. The staff of Kastro was very friendly and helpful. The place is very clean specially the pool. They have wifi service that was very pleasant to use while relaxing by the pool area. The studios are well equipped to let you feel like home with the advantages of a hotel. Mirtos is a very nice small village that does not feel very touristic. That makes it more charming. The locals were friendly and the nice beach area is 5 min walking distance from Kastro. In Mirtos there are some small supermakets with all the basic stuff needed. Definitely a place to be...
Read moreWe both love to holiday at the Kastro as we always receive a good welcome from all the staff and the owners, we love the gardens and the pool that Albarno looks after extremely well, along with his wife Anna who looks after the rooms and general areas with Georgia.||Vicky & Marios share the reception duties from 9 to 9 and both do an excellent & professional job, nothing is ever too much trouble for them.||||The owners Mr Kostas & Mrs Maria are both very good hosts and must be extremely proud of the way Kastro maintains such a fine reputation.||||We have been going there for many years now, and love the village,it's people and of course...
