ΘΑΛΑΣΣΑ — Restaurant in Municipality of Ierapetra

My wife and I enjoyed lunch on the deck at the Thalassa taverna with a view directly onto the beach and the Sea. The waiter Mikelis was very friendly and the service was good especially considering how busy it was. Wife and I shared the fried squid, tzatziki and a Greek salad along with beverages. All good but the fried squid was outstanding… lightly breaded, fried perfectly and so tender. I asked how they made them so tasty and tender and Mikelis said they use fresh squid and his Mom’s cooking technique. They set the bar very high for best calamari on the island....

Everything was perfect, and Koastas and his dad went out of their way to make sure you had a great time. Kind, funny, patient, we thank them from the bottom of our hearts. We had two starters, two main courses, and they offered us some very good watermelon for dessert, as well as raki, which we drank together.

We'd like to thank them and the whole lovely team very much, and hope they'll be able to take a well-deserved vacation after this...

Hey Google maps community! We visited THALASSA today and it was absolutely horrible! Drinks okay but the portion of the food was for the price not okay!
