Galini Studios & Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Kantanos-Selinon

The room is a short walk from the beach and centre, on the Main Street but quiet and shaded. The balcony was small but adequate with foliage and umbrella. Recently renovated, a good size, excellent shower, fridge etc. The wifi only worked at reception.||The road ends at the beach and is a dead end, but there is a car ferry between Hora Sfakia and Paleohora that calls here, also water taxi to take you on if you are walking through.||The host is Roumanium, is dour and does not make you feel welcome. On leaving, in spite of assuring me that credit cards are accepted, I had to pay cash. He said that the phone line to the machine was not working. This might have been true, but with the Greek banks restricting their customers' cash withdrawals, everyone...

😊: I could not recommend Galini Studios highly enough; upon booking I was impressed by the photos, but the experience of the room and the terrace far exceeded even the expectations these gave rise to. As a frequent visitor to Sougia in recent years, I cannot imagine that there is a comparable offering in the village in terms of quality, comfort and price, and I will surely stay again next time. Der ruhige Ort Sougia versetzt einen in das Kreta von 30 Jahren zurück. Auf der Suche nach einem geeigneten Appartement hatte ich Anfangs etwas Sorge, dass eine Pension am Eingang des Ortes auch Verkehr mit sich bringt. Jedoch sind die paar Autos die tatsächlich nach Sougia kommen zumindest Mitte bis Ende Juni kaum spürbar.||||Das mir angeboten Appartement gefiel mir nicht. Problemlos konnte ich in ein anderes, und nach zwei Stunden nochmals in ein anderes umziehen. Und da fühlte ich mich dann so richtig wohl. Überrascht war ich über die Sauberkeit in den Räumen. Sämtliche Sonderwünsche meinerseits wurden auch sofort erfüllt.||||Das Foto der Pension ist ein veraltetes. Das ganze Hotel plus Vorgarten ist wunderschön begrünt. Und Top: Hängematten auf den Balkonen und Terassen. Auch das Preis - Leistungsverhältnis ist ausgewogen.||||Die Zimmer im Erdgeschoss sind zur Straße hin und etwas dunkel, jedoch nicht hellhörig.||Die Zimmer im 1. Stock sind so wie üblich in Kreta hellhörig.||Ich hatte ein Appartement auf dem Dach. Eine steile enge etwas wacklige Wendeltreppe führt nach oben. Nicht jedermanns Sache. Dafür bekommt man vom restlichen Pensionsbetrieb kaum etwas mit.||||Allerdings sind diese Räumlichkeiten auch ziemlich heiß, so direkt unter dem Dach.||Klimaanlagen gibt es überall, sind jedoch ziemlich geräuschvoll.||||Internet funktionierte teilweise. Allerdings haben sie während meines Aufenthaltes zum Ort Glasfaserkabel verlegt. Sollte also in den nächsten Jahren besser werden ;-)||||Alles in allem: Das beste Appartementhaus (mit eigener Küchenzeile) welches ich bis jetzt in Südkreta...
