Miramare Bay — Hotel in Municipality of Karpathos

The hotel was renovated a year or some ago. Suitable rooms with very nice bathroom. Most rooms have side sea view. Rooms are cleaned every day to very high standard. Decent size pool, always enough sunbeds at the pool area. A bit too quite at pool area, although you can get drinks from inside bar. I would also prefer some more vegetation around the pool.|The breakfast was served from 7am to 10am. The variety of food was adequate: salami, cheese, eggs, olives, tomato, cucumbers, jam, honey, butter, coffee, yogurt, croissants and other cakes… and selection of very good bread. Well, juices were not very good.|Young lady taking care of the breakfast was very nice and young lady at the reception was kind too. Other personnel was a bit reserved but anyway polite.|The hotel is positioned second row from the municipality beach. It is well positioned, 10 min walk to the city centre, 1 minute to the nearest beach and 15 – 20 min walk to the long beach where you can always find a solitary place for yourself even in a shade of a tamarisk tree. Close to the hotel is also well stocked super market where you can find everything from cooled drinks to prepared meals and variety of baked products.|Cons: air condition for 10 euro extra payment, no safe box in the room but at the reception, TV with limited channel selection. Some noise from the road if you have balcony door open.|Overall the hotel offers all services you can expect from small 3 star hotel to a very high standard. Hotel Miramare bay has a super location-close to the nice beach, a lovely walk to the center of Pigadia with lots of restaurants, bars and shops and not far from the airport. Rooms are large, with quite a big fridge with a small freezer part. Closet is annoying-the hangers always stuck to the the sliding doors. Bathroom is small, outdated, with no window or ventilation. Shower is just a curtain with a very small square and a drain in the floor. ||Room was clean but the furniture is a bit outdated. The balcony is large enough with a bit of privacy.||The pool is great, not so small and deep enough for a good swim. You can even find some shade around the pool under the wooden roof. |Breakfast is not bad, but I was missing some cacao or some chocolate to drink (nothing for kids-even tea was black or green, not fruity). This hotel was perfect for our family of three. The staff really did their best to make us feel comfortable and we are very grateful to them. They staff was extremely nice and helpful. They provided a baby cot for our 1,5-year-toddler and a feeding chair at breakfast-time. |The hotel offered a wonderful selection of food at breakfast. Nothing was missing and everything was fresh and so delicious. The pool area is great as well and I liked sitting next to it in the shade, but you could also lay on deckchairs in the sun.
