Antama — Restaurant in Municipality of Karpathos

We chose this gem of a restaurant to be the star of our final evening on the island.

We had a wonderful dinner both times. The daily specials are highly recommended. They don’t change every day. We took the sea bream on both occasions. I also tasted the tona filet from the daily specials and carlic shrimps from the main menu. Everything was awesome. From the starters to the main.

The restaurant is located just outside the busiest tourist areas and makes this a perfect place for a quiet dinner. Rather small place but we got a table without waiting when arrived around 8 pm.

Can highly recommend this place. You won’t be disappointed and it’s way better than the tourist places...

The service was a bit lacking. The waiter seemed indifferent to our presence. However, he was polite and attentive once we had our food.

The food was delicious. We started with the zucchini croquettes, which were crispy on the outside and soft and creamy on the inside. For our main course, we had the meatballs, which were juicy and flavorful.

The menu changes daily, so it's important to check before you go to see if your favorite dishes are available.

As mentioned in another review, this is a hidden gem. It's not in the harbour, but that means it is quiet. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy, and the music was pleasant.

The food is easily the best we had in our 6 day stay in Karpathos. Be sure to try the feta with honey! The tuna fillet was excellent and the portion was generous.

They also gave us some grapes as dessert for free.

Very friendly staff, and special mention should be given to Takis (I believe that's what they called him), the local cat. Very decent and cute...
