Montemar Studios and Appartments — Hotel in Municipality of Karpathos

A few days ago we arrived from our holiday on beautiful greek island Karpathos. We choosed the Montemar Studios because of their location - near the beach (cca 150 m), nearby minimarket and mainly because we prefere studios before hotel with FB. We were with our accommodations very satisfied. Holder's family is very carefully, everything here is comfortable and very clean.||The cleaning manages handy owner's daughter Zoe assisted by Rose, they both have a lot of work. Here I have one suggestion to save effort, time and money - to change towels and linens according to formula: used towels in the bathroom on the ground means that I want to change it, but if it is hung on a hanger is still ok. ||Near the studios are a few taverna's (we've tried Glaros - family restaurant on the beach several times and there was very delicous cuisine) and a pleasant walk to reach the center of the old village Arkassa, where can you find alternative dining options and shopping. ||Karpathos Island is so beautiful, it is a pity to remain only in one place, definitely recommend to rent a car (in a village there is several rent a car offices, studio's owners Captain Mike or his daughter Zoe will be happy to help and advise with your choice of them. We stayed at Montemar Studios for 12 days in June and it was wonderful, from the warm welcome to the waves goodbye. ||||We had a 1-bed apartment on the second floor which had two private balconies - one facing east for the sunrise and one facing west for the sunset. Just perfect. The apartment was spotlessly clean, modern and comfortable. ||||Captain Mike and his family and staff did everything they could to make our holiday really special. ||||St. Nicholas beach is a few minutes stroll away and clean and sandy. There are sunbeds and umbrellas for hire (€6) but there's plenty of room if you just want to spread your towels on the sand. The sea is crystal clear. ||||Montemar apartment and studios isn't in the centre of Arkassa but that's part of the charm. There are two great restaurants within 10 minutes walk (Kriti at the main crossing and Glaros on St. Nicholas beach - both excellent with menus and daily specials to die for). There's a small supermarket just 30m away (fresh bread and cheese pies delivered at 7am daily) and car hire approx. 100m away, along with the best gift shop in Arkassa. ||||All things considered, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Montemar and would stay there again if we return...

Wonderful experience at Montemar Studios & Apartments! We stayed for 8 nights, the apartment -ground floor- has everything you need, silent at night, near to the city center and to the beach. Every two days the cleaning lady kindly fix the apartment. Internet WiFi is a bit slow at peak hours; the area is nicely windy so you never feel hot inside the house.
