Family Bikakis Rooms & Apartments for rent — Hotel in Municipality of Kissamos

The owner of the hotel was pretty rude from the beginning. I first thought it was a language barrier, but then at the end I realised it was just the way he is. Firstly, when we wanted to check in, he made us wait 15 minutes(after asking us what are waiting), just to tell us he doesn’t have any free room, and we should come later(but in a really rude way). Then at the check out, he wasn’t able to find our reservation(we made it through Booking), and even though I paid through booking app, he passed me the POS to pay again. When I told him that I paid, he kept yelling at me that’s impossible, and behaved to us like we were some thieves who didn’t want to pay. I showed him the receipt, the bank statement and all needed to confirm that we paid. We stayed there for around 45 minutes. In the meantime he called booking, and in the breaks of his calls he was shouting at us, blaming us for making a reservation through booking. It was really unpolite and rude, not characteristic for Greece. This guy should let his brother do the leading of the hotel. He is very kind and always smiling, willing to help. When it comes to the guy handling the reservations(who seemed to be the boss), I don’t really have nice words towards him, unfortunately. Before we arrived were in doubt wether we made a good choice of accommodation as we have read Google reviews, but once we came to see the place, we were warmly greeted by the owner - Giannis, who was apologetic that the sea view rooms are not available at this time as we arrived a day before our reservation. Giannis showed us our room, which had a balcony and partial sea view and we were satisfied. It’s not a five star hotel, so don’t expect bells and whistles, but the rooms are clean, comfy and have everything one needs for good night sleep.
