Hidden gem. The food here is already cooked and so you get eating in minutes from your arrival. The food is cooked traditionally in the large metallic dish, the 'tapsi'.

This is not cheap cafeteria food, it is home cooked food and it is made by Greek cooks who know what they are doing.

You can choose a whole portion of either meat dishes or vegetarian ones. If you want to try other dishes, you can also ask for half a portion. Prices are the most reasonable in Kissamos. The decor is extremely basic. What is more important in my opinion is how good the food is. It is better than a lot of establishments on the Kissamos sea front!

Your wallet will thank you- and even your waistline if you eat the meat free...

My husband and I were in Greece for six weeks. Stopped here for a quick, cafeteria style lunch and had their fish and potatoes, which happened to be the featured entree of the day. I am writing English because there is no meaning for Greeks. This is a real traditional Cretan food. I ate snails which is the most traditional Cretan food and it was better than my grandmother's. You will see that many locals take food from here and this is not accidental. Best...
