We came here to get away from hotel food. The place was very busy but fortunately the 3 of us didn't wait to be seated. We split starters, and they were all nice, One of us had suvlaki for main...very small portion, I had lamb keleftiko, again a small portion & more potato than meat. Our other got a mixed grill for 1, which was a decent portion. The restaurant is hospitable & service is good, friendly & professional. That said, the portion sizes on the mains could be bigger . I have been to many Greek islands & this was the smallest, meger portion of lamb keleftiko I've ever eaten....so much so 4 hrs later I had to get something to eat. I hope they have a busy , successful summer. Make...
Read moreGarlic mushrooms were REALLY salty. I would expect this dish to come with crusty bread, it didn't. I asked for bread, which was good, but it was grilled pitta and not suitable for soaking up the mushroom sauce. Mussels were REALLY salty. Prawns and mussels came with a choice of chips or rice. The rice was OK with prawns in a creamy sauce, but can't see it accompanying a bowl of mussels, so I got chips, which were good. The mussels were very poor. Like I said, salty. But also 30% were empty shells, 30% were tiny and shrivelled. I ended up with maybe 9 decent sized mussels. And they were all REALLY salty. Good sponge cake but would have been better with custard or a rum sauce and...
Read moreTaverna Nisiotiko is a really lovely traditional Greek spot. It’s got that classic old-school vibe and is decorated really nicely. The outdoor and indoor seating is great – especially with the retractable roof in the evening. Service was quick and friendly, prices were decent, and the food was really good. I had the moussaka which was spot on, and the tzatziki was super fresh.
Only thing that confused me was the water prices – half a litre was €1 but 2 litres was €3… bit odd. Also, a few photos on the menu would be helpful for tourists to get a better idea of what they’re ordering. Other than that, definitely...
