Does not deserve a star at all.... my husband and daughter arrived at Elea Village Febuary 2019 thinking it was going to be beautiful and traditional. First impression was 0/0, we are here off season first of all. We had booked online, nothing said it was closed. In fact it said most of the villas were sold out! We arrived to find Elea Village was actually closed. We did not have a villa assigned to us, so we were given a random villa that was not ready/prepared for us. But we were still charged a villa and had a booking online.
There was no heating in the villa, the oil heaters had no oil we were told. It was very cold and the owner was trying to find batteries to turn on the A/C to turn on heating which took quite some time. During the time we waited for the owner to find batteries i sat outside to keep warm. The hot water was turned off, the water was freezing cold when i tried to take a shower, il also add that there was no shower screen/curtain so water was getting everywhere. When i turned on the hot water, the water was hot for 2mins and then ice cold. Elea Village is in the middle of no where on a mountain hill, there are no shops near by or resturants worth going too.
There is no wifi in the villas, only near the bar which was closed. There was no body there, all the pools were disgusting so my daughter didnt get a chance to have a swim. Nothing at all for kids to do which is not good at all.
In our villa the television didn't work, and there was no actual place to sit as a family as the couch was smelly and it was tiny... looks nothing like the pictures at all. The bedrooms are up very windy small stairs that are quite unsafe, and im pregnant and was struggling to get up and down them. The villa smelt old and dusty, it was so cold and felt like a cave. The kitchen utensils were all dirty and random! Not even proper plates and mugs/cups. No kettle as well which was very annoying as all i wanted was a cuppa tea after being so disappointed. We thought we will try sleep one night to see how it goes. I took my daughter up stairs to bed, we flipped the blankets down as i wanted to check it was clean before getting in. We were then taken back by a disgusting urine oder, and found a urine stain in the bedding that was still wet! Obviously from the family that just left before we arrived, so they put us in sheets a family had slept in before us!!! The other bed had body stains and dirt and smelt like someone had been smoking in the bed. I was absolutely horrified. We packed up and tried to let the owner know of the situation at 20.30PM but she wouldnt answer her door which was two doors away from us. The whole experience for us was disturbing and stressful, i have never been in a place as bad as this ever. Everything was just getting worse as the night went on. We left and booked a really nice hotel in the city centre of Heraklion which i reccomend, infinity city boutique hotel is amazing and reasonably priced.
I swear this review is not a joke, we were absolutely devastated by Elea Village. It was a complete Sh*t show. I do not recommend staying there, even when...
Read moreWe arrived here yesterday and was very disappointed with our room, number 5. The rooms were very basic and the mattress were hard where my wife felt every spring in the mattress. The cushions outside were dirty and had cigarette burns in some of them. I sat on the couch, in the tiny lounge room, and a spring broke and was hanging down from the couch. The bathroom had an awful smell. This place needs a major revamp. It got 1 star because the private pool was lovely and that is about it. Please do your research about this place before booking it. Some of these photos, on google maps, for this place may not be real or inaccurate. Be aware. We only stayed one night and were out the next day! We cancelled our...
Read moreA FUIR !!!
