This hotel sits in the quiet village of Mati and is a very modern hotel. This is the place to stay if you want a relaxing getaway, or maybe just a base away from the hustle and bustle of Athens. Every staff member we met was very friendly, polite and they go above and beyond to help their guests. ||The breakfast is excellent, with a broad selection for all nationalities. Everything is clearly labelled so you can try something new, or just have whatever you are used to! I particularly enjoyed the pancakes and bacon with maple syrup! We only ate in the evening once, but the food was delicious. There is a day menu, so you can have food at any time. ||The pool area is small, but clean and with very comfortable loungers. There is nice background music too. As with all hotels, there is high demand and people lay their towels before the pool opens. However, if you do miss out on a sunbed, there is a private beach with umbrellas set up. Many guests enjoyed swimming in the beautiful blue sea. ||We stayed in a Deluxe Suite with Sea View and I have included a lot of pictures as the website just does not do this room justice! It is 2 rooms, separated by a door and each room has a wet room shower/toilet and separate access to the balcony. So you don't have to go through the other bedroom to get outside. Both rooms have their own modern air conditioning unit with a range of settings and it is very quiet. ||We had one large double bed in the main room and a put up single bed for our teenager in the smaller room. Both were very comfortable! Both rooms have ample storage for clothing. What you don't see so well in the website pictures is how large the rooms are! No squeezing around furniture to get around and plenty of room for suitcases. We liked to have a bit of time apart so we were not on top of each other all the time and with the door closed you really don't hear much! Even the TV - which each room has. ||The small room has the safe and the larger room has the desk with mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. This is where my only criticism is - the fridge is very small and just holds a few bottles/cans. I am English - so the tea was never going to meet my standards! There is no milk (only coffee creamer) and the teas available are all herbal. No English Breakfast! But you can get this in the restaurant.||The balcony has two small tables and 4 chairs and is big enough to sit and enjoy the beautiful views.||I must commend the housekeeping staff as the room was cleaned every day and beds made fresh. They even folded some of our teenager's clothes she had left on the bed! The whole room was clean and tidy when we arrived and stayed that way as the housekeeping staff did a very good job. One thing I want to comment upon is how quiet and efficient they are. Several times we came up from a late breakfast to find our room already cleaned. Some hotels have staff that are very loud preparing rooms in the morning and you can't quite relax when other rooms are being cleaned, but that was not the case here. The staff are very considerate of their guests. ||Before you stay here you must research the amenities in the village - as this is a quiet fishing village so there isn't much to do besides enjoy the pool or sea. You can't go for long walks for example, as there is no coastal path. We only found one shop, which sits across the road from the hotel. It has all the essentials for visitors and tourist merchandise. Despite this being a small place, there are some nice places to eat on the hotel doorstep. We ate for several nights at Eva Restaurant right outside the hotel entrance - see my review for this! There is a small cafe where we had a light lunch and this was lovely. There is another restaurant, Artion, that we tried just 5 minutes up the hill. We had a nice meal there and excellent coffee! ||If you are looking for more than just a lazy holiday, you will need to book excursions with a travel company or get transport. The hotel will arrange for taxi's for your days out. We went to Athens on 2 occasions at a set price. It's about a 30 minute drive. The taxi drivers were very pleasant and if you ask them for their card you can call/text them to collect you when you are finished and bring you back. You can use the public transport if you don't mind a 2 hour journey to Athens (each way!) but we found the taxi to be far more convenient. Our Jet2 rep regularly visits the hotel so we booked an excursion through him. ||In summary, this is a wonderful hotel to stay, just be aware that this is a village and there is not much to do except enjoy the sun, sea,...
Read moreShort summary: A good hotel with some minor flaws, definitely worth the price. Shines especially in the politeness of their workers.
Detailed description: We‘ve been there for four nights, in our package was breakfast and dinner included. The rooms and the hotel overall are very clean. The staff is outshinigly nice to the guests, especially Eleni was making her best efforts to give us an excellent service during dinner. Breakfast had a wide variation of different things, stuff that is typically available and also greek specific offers, with which we were very satisfied. Dinner had also some variation of greek speciality but personally I wished there to be more. Which was pretty confusing was, that none of the foods where labelled at their position, but instead at the entrance on a big list, which made it hard for me to know which is which. If you do not eat certain types of food, like fish, you always had to ask someone if it’s containing that ingredient, instead of having a label to read from. Overall the food was good for that price.
The rooms are clean, but you could hear every little conversation of your neighboring rooms and outside as well. You could hear every step of the room above us. First night we hardly had any sleep because of a teenager in the neighboring room had a crisis to discuss until 1 a.m. The bathroom was a little bit small, but had every convenience that’s necessary.
The pool area is beautiful, with a perfect view out on the ocean. Easy access to the ocean from pool area aswell. The only issue I had with it was that there aren’t enough poolbeds for the amount of rooms the hotel has, sure there are a lot of beanbags aswell which I found to be rather uncomfortable compared to the poolbeds. If you‘re there at 9 a.m. when pool area opens, then you‘re been usually secured to have a poolbed.
From infrastructure side you‘re about 45 minutes away from athens, this hotel serves a good combination of a relaxing vacation and being just close enough to reach the city by taxi. The taxi can be organized by the reception, which where also overall very friendly, nice and uncomplicated.
Overall I would...
Read moreI stayed in this hotel for a wedding in October 2024 and I can definitely say it is the best hotel I have stayed at in Greece. The rooms had all the amenities and space we needed - a comfortable bed, a pull out sofa for maximum occupancy, all the toiletries in the bathroom including liquid hand soap, shower gel, a conditioning shampoo, and towels. The bathroom also had a window which was perfect as I find that hotel bathroom extractor fans are never strong enough.
The breakfast included was amazing as there was such a wide variety of options of pastries, waffles, meats, vegetables, cereals, cheeses, breads, and more. They also had a station where some mornings they would be making fresh eggs at your request or fresh pancakes. Their selection of teas and coffees from the machine were also extensive so my family and I often found ourselves sitting back after breakfast with repeat visits to the hot drinks station to get something else to have with a donut or pastry we hadn't yet tried. I would particularly like to mention Peggy, one of the servers at breakfast who took care of myself and my family every day. She even made sure that there was a table reserved for my parents every morning in their preferred side of the outdoor seating and was always on hand to help us out. She made an already pleasant visit even better by making us feel very welcome.
Considering I was there for a wedding, I got more time in the pool than I expected and it was a nice family friendly one - it wasn't too deep for younger children as it didn't go any deeper than 1.6 (I think that might be deeper than it was too). It was also a good size for people to swim around in while others played with younger kids.
Just outside the hotel there are two really great restaurants as well if you don't feel like staying in for the evening but want to be close by to your room for the end of the night. One of them is more outdoor open seating and the other is more of a rustic indoors seafood restaurant - both with incredible and...
