GK Airport Suites — Hotel in Municipality of Markopoulo Mesogaias

We had 2 rooms booked, 3 in our room. I had read the reviews and I can say that some of them are complainers. The room was huge, 2 seperate rooms, one with a queen bed, the other a single. Seperate bathroom and shower. Kitchenette, no microwave. There was enough linen for the 3 of us.

It had a huge balcony with pretty good views. We slept with the window open but there was a dog that barked all night.

The room was very clean.

We needed a transfer to the airport at 3.45am the next day. I received a very comprehensive email when we arrived on how to open the lock box to get the key and all about the facility. The email said we could have a large bag and a carry on each on the shuttle, that is all we had. At 4am the shuttle shows up, a little late, but that was fine. Then says he can’t fit us because he was told no luggage. He made some calls and ended up taking the other people and coming back for us. We arrived at the airport at 4.30am. We were supposed to fly at 6.30 but our plane was delayed. This wasn’t a huge issue, more of an inconvenience. I am an organiser and being in a strange town at 4am in the morning and wondering if you were going to get to the airport, was a but stressful. Our family members who were leaving at 8.45 with the appropriate amount of bags was picked up on time an arrived at the airport with no issues.

We recently booked a stay for a night at GK Airport Suites and let me just share, it was an amazing experience! ||Communication:|The communication with the entire staff was impeccable! From start to finish the staff responded to every little request (via Email/Whatsapp). We had some unexpected travel changes and requested transfer from Piraeus Port to Athens Airport and to GK Suites. Not only was this arranged exceptionally well, but the whole process was so smooth and cost effective, especially while traveling with family. Furthermore, one of my family members was departing at a later flight the next day, had a free shuttle arranged for them without any issues. Good option for layovers from the Athens Airport.

The hotel suites are in a converted office building so you feel a little like you're going to work, but the facilities are clean and well appointed. Our suite had a double and a twin bed, plus a couch, desk, kitchen, and outdoor balcony. Kitchen is appointed with some dishes, a coffee maker, and a kettle.

Staff was super communicative, which was extremely helpful given travel stress.

Airport shuttle allows you to skip the stress of an Athenian taxi. GK was even able to accommodate a late flight that was delayed to early morning for the shuttle. (We had thought we missed their shuttle and so we took a taxi to the hotel, but had we checked our messages it would have saved us a lot of stress and being charged triple by the taxi service.) Hotel seems a little far, until you realize that there is only one $$$$ airport hotel. Multiple hotels targeting folks who need easy access to the airport are in the otherwise quiet neighborhood.

I cannot comment on the neighborhood as we only saw it from the car but I would stay again for the next...
