We were staying at Carpe Diem Apartments just around the corner, and this spot came highly recommended by our host. It ended up being the best meal of our entire trip to Greece—and that includes dining at a luxury beach resort earlier the same day. The servers were incredibly warm and welcoming, which made a big difference as an English-speaking traveler abroad.

The food was absolutely phenomenal, and the value was unbeatable. We ordered the gyros platter, a chicken souvlaki skewer, a chicken pita, a Greek salad, and four local beers—all for under €50. (Yes, an excessive amount of food, but you could easily dine here for €10–15 per person and leave completely satisfied.)

What an incredible find! We stumbled upon Kokkini Piperia and had one of the best meals of our entire trip to Athens. We grabbed a table outside and immediately felt the local charm and warm vibe. Everything we ordered was a hit — the fried cheese was perfectly crispy, the burrata salad fresh and flavorful, and the Angus burger and steak were cooked just right.
