Not sure I'd specifically recommend this hotel, or necessarily use it again, but it worked for what we needed it for. Let me break it down into pros and cons
Pros: close to the airport (10 minute drive), decent cost, friendly staff, key card access into the building, very clean; and offers a free shuttle (van) to the airport (during business hours*; I'll try to find out specifics on that), lots of outlets, cosmetic mirror on the full mirror, and a fan in bathroom
Cons: the balcony has 0 furniture so you can't sit outside; and even if you wanted to, there isn't much to look at. You have to get a taxi to the public transportation and there isn't a ton to do around the hotel aside from a couple of restaurants/coffee shops and one or two clothes stores. Extremely basic rooms, the beds aren't comfortable and the shower is extremely frustrating to use (the shower head can't be placed higher so it's aimed "below the belt", and was very touchy in terms of temperature and pressure; jumping from a trickle at a normal temperature to power washing at a scalding temperature), the shower gel/shampoo they provide in the room comes in single-use packets and is difficult to open when your hands are wet. The door also swings into the wall and dents it, there's no stopper and the elevator is extremely small.
*For additional context, my travel agent attempted to make it so we could be picked up from the airport to be taken to our hotel before we tried to go into the city and we weren't able to be because they were closed; otherwise we'd be waiting at the airport for over an hour to be picked up. We ended up taking a taxi and the taxi driver attempted to make us pay 45 euros for the 10 minute drive to the hotel (which is the going rate from the airport into Athens).
All in all, next time I'm going to try to stay at a hotel within walking distance of the airport because the metro is 9 euros into Athens from the airport (vs 45+...
Read moreI had a great experience with this company. Found them online around midnight when I lost my connection flight. Called up and made a booking instantly, with prices lower than what I could find online. The shuttle bus was outside and picked me up in 3’ (the shuttles go back and forth to the hotel all the time, so even if it’s not there when you call, it will come in 20’ max) All personnel was exceptional and very friendly. It was a smooth 15’ ride to the hotel from the airport. I was really lucky as I got to stay at the newly renovated studios of the company (it looked like the property was on a Greek island - I highly recommend you ask for those). There was a lock in the main entrance to the patio and good security doors in the studios - felt very safe. The property was beautiful, super clean and upon check in the staff immediately arranged for my shuttle to the airport early the next day. Using the free shuttle saved me around 35-40€ in total and given the lower price I got by going directly to them I think I saved around 60€ in total. I don’t hope I loose my connection flights in the future, but if I do I will use their services again. I highly recommend it:
NOTE: this is located in the area of Markopoulo that is NOT touristic, so if you arrive after midnight and you are hungry make sure you grab something from the airport as everything closed by midnight (even e-food...
Read moreGreat hotel close to the airport. Rooms are very clean and modern, staff is friendly and welcoming. There isn’t any breakfast or parking at the hotel, but they do have a few restaurants nearby and they provide a free shuttle to and from the airport. This seems to be one of the few hotels that has a shuttle included, everywhere else we called in the area told us to get a taxi or provided a shuttle, but only for extra cost (which was like $25).
The area around the hotel isn’t very touristy, so it’s not the place to stay if you want to feel vacation vibes and relax. This hotel is perfect for those times you need to stay close to the airport before or after your flights.
Everything was great and the hotel served its purpose of providing us a place to stay for a night before our flights out of Athens (we stayed here twice). Minus one star for location though because both times we stayed it was very noisy outdoors (regular street noise like loud cars, people talking or dogs barking), and there is a church right near the hotel that has super loud bells that start ringing at 7am every day and continue ringing every 30-60 mins after that. So if you want to sleep in, it might not be possible. This church WILL make sure you don’t miss your morning flight though if you need to get up at around 7am, so...
