We had a mixed experience at Katikies Mykonos. While there were some standout moments, a few service lapses and room issues meant it did not quite live up to its 5-star promise.||The Highlights||Food: Absolutely superb. Yes, it is expensive, but worth every euro. The Greek salad was the best I have ever had, and the breakfasts were both unique and delicious. Dining here was one of the real pleasures of our stay.||Room Upgrade: We were upgraded from a plunge pool room to a full pool room. While this was appreciated, the advertised “sea view” was in reality just a partial glimpse between bushes if you stood in the right spot. The best views are clearly from the higher rooms, so bear that in mind when booking.||Reception Team: The ladies at reception were absolutely amazing. They were warm, professional, genuinely friendly, and went out of their way to help us throughout our stay. Their outstanding service created a fantastic first impression and set a welcoming tone from the moment we arrived.||Location: Perfect for a peaceful break. The views from both pools are stunning, and with a bus stop right outside (€2 per person to the main town), you get the best of quiet luxury and easy access to Mykonos Town.||Top Pool Service: Attentive and friendly staff made relaxing by the higher pool a real treat.||Breakfast Waitstaff: Efficient, welcoming, and quick to ensure we had everything we needed each morning.||The Disappointments||Room Condition: Comfortable bed, but the room felt a little tired. Some areas could do with fresh paint and general upkeep to match the price point.||Downstairs Pool Service (One Staff Member): A frustrating low point. At the downstairs pool, one particular female staff member was unhelpful and dismissive from the outset. We ordered food 1 hour 15 minutes before our airport transfer. Starters took 40 minutes to arrive, and when we politely checked on the mains, she brushed us off with a curt “soon.” After following up again and explaining we had a flight to catch, she disappeared and later returned to say our order had been cancelled, something we had never requested. She shrugged, muttered something in Greek loudly as she walked away, and never came back to clarify or offer a solution. Then, without any explanation, the mains simply appeared at our table about 10 minutes before we had to leave, forcing us to rush through the meal. This unnecessarily stressful and poorly handled interaction ended our stay on a sour note and was the main reason our overall impression and rating of the hotel were brought down.||Pool Area and Towels: The higher pool area is lovely, but parts looked worn. Towels were surprisingly thin and worn for a 5-star hotel, and on more than one occasion we waited up to 10 minutes and had to chase before they arrived.||Final Thoughts||Katikies Mykonos has a lot going for it, including an enviable location, exceptional food, and some excellent staff such as the fantastic ladies at reception who delivered a genuine 5-star experience. However, it is strange and disappointing that while some staff provided service of that calibre, others fell far short, as with the poor treatment we received at the downstairs pool. Coupled with some room upkeep issues, these inconsistencies meant the hotel did not deliver the overall quality we expected for the premium rates charged. The poor final experience at the pool overshadowed much of the good and ultimately brought my review rating down. My 3-star rating reflects the fact that while parts of our stay felt truly 5-star, the poor final experience at the downstairs pool left a lasting negative impression that overshadowed much...
Read moreWe began planning our trip to Greece over a year ago. Our visits to Athens, Santorini, and Mykonos exceeded our expectations in so many ways. In Athens, we strolled the narrow streets of Plaka, Monastiraki, and Anafiotika, dined at cafes, shopped in the local markets, and admired the Parthenon atop the Acropolis from our hotel's rooftop restaurant. Making this long-awaited visit to Greece worth the wait—and we loved it.
Katikies Mykonos: We also want to extend our appreciation and Gratitude to Dora, Sefi, and Lentina Lydia at the reception counter at Katikies in Mykonos, as well as to the servers and chef for their service and the incredible breakfasts they provided daily at Katikies Mykonos. The entire team was terrific at every level and helpful throughout our stay in Mykonos. We can't thank them enough for the excellent accommodations and customer service they provided during our visit.
Similar to Katikies in Santorini, our initial arrival at Katikies Mykonos included a private car service that ensured safe and clean transportation from the fast ferry to our hotel, as well as ensuring additional transportation for our nights into Old Town and Little Venice during our stay.
The reception staff also assisted us in securing reservations at a restaurant and arranged an early morning transportation to the airport, which included breakfast boxes for our return to Athens. A perfect ending to a fantastic trip, and we are grateful to them for their thoughtfulness.
While the entire Katikies team made our stay in Santorini and Mykonos special, we would like to take this opportunity to express our Gratitude and appreciation to Stella, Theodora, Sofia, and Maria and Dimitri at concierge and driver in Santorini, and to Dora, Sefi, and Lentina Lydia in Mykonos, as well as the evening concierge and restaurant staff for their service and dedication to excellence. You were wonderful.
Their customer service and assistance made our trip to Santorini and Mykonos an unforgettable experience. We ask that you please extend our gratitude for their service and creating a fantastic experience that we will both treasure for many, many years.
We wish you and the Katikies family continued success and look forward to returning to Greece for another incredible journey, someday.
Best always, R....
Read moreWe have just arrived home after spending a week at Katikies. It was an amazing holiday and what made it so special was all the staff. All the ladies at reception, Stefana and the all the team at breakfast and around the pool during day Athena and the gang. Our ladies from housekeeping were always on hand and were so friendly. I can’t remember all their names and I have to mention the hotel manager Stavros, every day he would be around the hotel and would take time to talk to you and recommend places. ||We had been upgraded to a room with a large terrace and plunge pool which was great to relax in later in the afternoon after being out or around the main pool during day. The room was so nice and airy waking up in the morning opening the door and windows to see such a lovely sea view. ||We ate on the first evening in the hotel and the food and service was amazing. We also ate at Botrinis which is their fine dining restaurant and also has a Michelin * at their Athens restaurant. It was amazing, 9 courses and we chose the wine pairing too. Each course was so intricate and tasted amazing. Our waiter called Vis for short explained each course and the wine. He was very attentive and his attention to detail was just perfection. ||Breakfast was always a delight each morning and the team explained all the different selection. It was à la Carte and also brought to your table was a selection of breads, meats and cheeses with a selection of home made cakes which changed daily. ||Our whole experience at Katikies was simply the best and it felt sad leaving yesterday and saying goodbye to everyone. You can see that the team enjoy being there and want to make your stay special which it was. We will definitely be back at Katikies again. This was our first time in Mykonos and a special birthday treat for me, it has left a huge impression on us and we we’ll be back. ||Thank you for making such a...
