Second visit to this hotel, but having rated 5 last year, dropped to 3 this year. (Not sure why all trip advisor reviews prior to this summer have disappeared!?)|We booked 2 superior sea view rooms (one for me self and husband and one for our son) based on our previous experience at this hotel. I emailed the hotel in advance and requested the rooms close yo each other if possible and on the higher floors as we knew these had the best views across the pool towards the sea. To our knowledge all these superior sea view rooms are bright and spacious with views over the pool towards the sea. Unfortunately when we arrived late in the evening we were led down the steps to our rooms below the pool area (ie the lowest possible area of the hotel). These rooms were previously the standard room category and because they had been refurbished were now classed as superior sea view. They are nicely furnished with a lovely terrace looking out to sea, but smaller and darker than the previous room we had stayed in and the Wi-Fi didn’t work in one of the rooms (124). I did tell the lady at reception that we were disappointed with our rooms and that I had made the booking for 2 Superior sea view rooms based on our previous experience. She said that the rooms we were given had been refurbished and were now classified as superior rooms and there was no way we could be moved as the hotel was full. I was made to feel that we had inconvenienced them by requesting 2 rooms close to each other. On our 3rd day the air con stopped functioning; having reported this late in the evening we were told someone would sort it out the following day. No-one came. After 2 days without air con they finally found the air con unit was faulty and offered to move us to a sea view suite with jacuzzi for our last 2 nights. This was a beautiful large, bright room with fully functioning air con but the jacuzzi had no water in it!|The breakfast was not as good as we remembered from last year and on some mornings the selection was not as wide on the hot breakfast. The menu for lunch is good, but there was a really long wait (even the waiter apologized for the delay). |The music around the pool was really relaxing in the morning but by mid afternoon it was almost deafening club music. We did hear one couple complain and asked for the music to be turned down or changed to something else which they did.|Staff around pool/breakfast area were always smiling, friendly and welcoming.|On a positive note, the beds are really comfortable both in the room and around the pool. The cleaners do a great job of cleaning the rooms and public areas are very clean. The location, just a few steps from Agios Ioannis beach is superb and with a bus stop directly outside there is easy access into Mykonos town just 10 mins away for just €1.80. (Taxis are very expensive…€40 one way to airport..15 mins journey). We will probably return to Mykonos and would definitely stay in Agios Ioannis in the future, but sorry to say we would probably not stay at Manoulas based on our...
Read moreThis hotel is absolutely beautiful, it is well located, pretty much next door to Hippie Fish, and although this was the hotel where Shirley Valentine was filmed it bears no resemblance to how it was.|The staff are lovely, particularly Costas on reception. Breakfast is very good, though a tea pot would have been a welcome addition (they had them at the bar but not in breakfast area), the pool area is absolutely stunning with Bali beds, or sun beds in the pool - there is am awful lot of posing for social media going on as both the area and the sea view beyond is amazing. There is no towels on sun beds happening here.|The snack bar is good, and although expensive, not as expensive as other bars/restaurants in the area .|There is a bus stop straight outside the hotel, 2 euros into Mykonos Town. They run every half hour. A taxi is 30 euros.|Rooms are cleaned daily to a high standard - room equipped with fridge. Pool towels are provided.||Couple additions I think would have been essential given the price - coffee machine or facilities in the room. I asked for a kettle from reception, then had to ask at the bar for cups and buy our own tea, coffee and milk from the shop.|Wine glasses in the room, you just get tumblers which we used as toothbrush mugs.|Bottle of water in the fridge - particularly on arrival. We arrived at 11 pm, there was no water, no shop and hotel bar was closed.||There are also no sun beds provided on the beach, although this is described as a beach resort. The restaurants have them and they are limited in supply and very expensive (between 80 and 180 euro a day).||All in all would not hesitate to recommend this hotel. We stayed for 11 nights, but many people seem to just come for a couple of nights...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel for four days. I was extremely happy with my booking and full of expectations upon arrival. Expectations immediately betrayed when the room was handed over. The room, a standard sea view one, was not at all in line with the photos published on the website from which the booking had been made (pay attention!). For this reason I asked the courtesy of being moved to another room at the reception to a lady who had the air of being the manager. This lady reacted badly to this request, replying that the room had its own style and that in any case at the price at which they had sold it we should not have high expectations that newer rooms were sold at much higher prices as if to emphasise that we could not afford it. So it occurs to me that for this lady, there are A-range customers and B-range customers? Let's say that courtesy was not her strong point given also the way she invited us to leave the room, we received calls to the room starting at 11:10am when our check-out as per the booking confirmation email was scheduled for 12pm. Fortunately everything was resolved thanks to the availability and kindness of the other staff members and the hotel manager who moved us, under payment of a small supplement, to a beautiful room that made our stay at the hotel...
