Naxian Althea — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We just returned from a 10 day stay at the Althea. While we have island hopped in the past, we wanted a beachfront hotel stay this time. It was perfectly suited to our needs. The hotel is directly on the beach with a beautiful view of the Aegean. Our room was stocked with everything we needed. We stayed on the top floor, but all five rooms have the same wonderful view. Each room is provided with beachfront lounges with the best umbrellas on the beach. There are excellent tavernas nearby, and two markets a five minute walk away. It is easy to get the bus into the main town if you want more activity. We were lulled to sleep each night by the sound of the waves. Spiros made sure we were happy. He set up our umbrellas each day, and was around if we needed anything else (we didn't). Honestly speaking, it was one of our most enjoyable stays ever when you consider the location. My daughter and I stayed at a dozen different accommodations in 3 different countries during our vacation, and the Naxian Althea was my absolute favorite! The room itself was very spacious, clean and comfortable with a simplistic modern feel. The location cannot be beat! You are right on a beautiful beach and have your own lounge chairs and umbrella right in front of the small complex, which I believe is only four or five rooms, with each room having its own balcony, which we loved! A market and numerous places to eat delicious Greek food are easily within walking distance, as well as the bus stop should you want ride the bus anywhere. Spiros the owner was great to deal with and set up our taxi pickup at the airport. When we left, we took the bus to the ferry port, where we caught a large ferry to Santorini. If I'm ever lucky enough to return to Naxous, I'd definitly stay at the Naxian...

We stayed here for five nights on our honeymoon. The rooms were nothing fancy but being on the first floor, we had a cute little balcony with a great view.|The bathrooms were fairly modern and had a great shower.|We slept so well every night, you could hear the ocean through the windows.|There is private umbrellas and deck chairs right outside that are reserved for guests free of charge - we walked along most of the beach nearby and there were definitely the best, the umbrellas were huge and the chairs were very comfy.|This was a perfect spot for spending some days relaxing by the beach, as there’s not much to do in Naxos compared to other islands. |I would highly recommend staying here if you need somewhere to relax and be spoilt with yummy local Greek food being...
