Aegean Blue Ξενοδοχείο — Hotel in Municipality of Nea Propontida

One of the worst experiences in life.

I came to (22.7) Nea Kalikratia for a couple of days to visit friends who were staying in this place. I came to this hotel on the recommendation of a famous football coach.

In the morning (July 22) at the reception, the manager gave me room 106, which was free, and we agreed that I would see if I liked it and that I would be able to stay in it for 1 more day. so room is free for 2 days.

On the 23rd, he tells me in the morning that he is not sure if the same room is available and that if it is not available, I will pack my things and leave them in the room and the employee will transfer to another room in the same category for (otherwise €155 per day). It was already a bit strange, but I paid and that day I couldn't use the safe, I had to carry documents and money with me because the manager didn't know if I would stay in the same room. When I came around 7:00 p.m., the manager wasn't there, the girls who were employed, otherwise they were really correct, they told me that I was transferred to room 202, which was at the very top and the last room in the row.

The room was indeed the same as the one on the floor below, but the air conditioner could not cool the room at all. I felt like it was a little colder than outside I was in it for about two hours (it also has a jacuzzi that doesn't work) and I spoke to the manager who said he would take a look. when I came back around 11 in the afternoon, the manager was not there, the temperature in the room was set to 24 degrees, the room was probbably 29.

I reduced the maximum temperature to 18 and after 1 hour when I saw that the temperature did not change, I spoke to the girl who said she would come and take a look.

I ask for any room with good air conditioning so I could at least spend the night She called the manager, who came in 5 minutes, entered the room and began to scream with the most disgusting behavior and try convince me that it was not a refrigerator, with the remark that there is a freezer in the basement ,totally hysterical and uncultured

Of course at 12 in the middle of the night I went out and left the hotel. so this joke cost me 320e.

Clean, airy and comfortable hotel, in a great position at the end of a fairly quiet beach road- as an older, female solo traveller, I felt very safe wandering back and forward to the restaurants and bars. Supermarket was a minute’s walk on your left from the hotel entrance. I was in 2nd floor sea view room, well worth the money- the view was fantastic, good sound proofing from outside and between rooms; effective and quiet air con: and a SILENT fridge (what bliss!) Friendly, exceptional service throughout, with daily maid service - I was even brought breakfast to my room one morning when I didn’t make it downstairs! Lovely sandy beach with plenty of loungers ( though I went in September, and I think that it’d be heaving in peak season). Continental breakfast is adequate, hot selection not great but if a fry up is that important to you for the sake of a few days, then, maybe best to stick to the UK... my only disappointment was that the pool has been permanently closed- I love being by the sea, but I also enjoy mixing it up some quieter time by a pool... but hey, I’d thoroughly recommend this hotel, and I look forward to perhaps returning there for...

Great hotel with very nice staff, especially lady at the desk. Good and varied breakfasts. Every day during our stay there was something different plus every day there was fine selections of cakes, fruits, dried fruits and olives. There is also a bar with selection of drinks. The hotel is in a great spot with a view on a beach and sea. The balcony has superb view and late night we could rest watching waves. Nea Kalikrateia is pleasant small town with great restaurants especially with sea food and also small shops - Aegean Blue is in the middle of it. The very important advantage of hotel is that room was very quiet, both from other rooms and outside, so there is no problem with resting or nap even during the daytime. The air conditioning is very good and we could easily made our room as cold as we wanted. The Wifi is free, however we had some problems with connectivity and it was quite slow (we preferred our roaming internet in phones). The hotel is worth every...
