My girlfriend and I spent four nights here in April/May 2014 and we had an absolutely lovely time. Where to begin... Our room was spacious but also cozy, with a nice kitchenette and wonderful balcony from which we could see the Ocean. The room was not fancy or modern but rather it was warm, welcoming, clean, and comfortable. There was a wonderful beach just five minutes down the hill, and the main town was an easy 15-20 minutes by foot. Maria and Dimitrios were absolutely magical hosts who despite not speaking much English made my partner and I feel right at home. They welcomed us upon our arrival with desserts and assistance from their son who's English was superb. Everyday we would return to the hotel to find a delicious treat, or homemade drinks awaiting us in our room. This was definitely a unique feature that really set Maria Studios apart from the rest. Even more, our lovely hosts had us for appetizers and dinner spontaneously after we popped in to say hi one nite. They were truly wonderful, and people we will not soon forget. Finally, for those wondering, the wifi worked well enough and the tv seemed to have some decent channels if you were interested. The kitchen was functional but could have used a stove or hot plate. Despite these minor issues, we adored this place and would certainly recommend to all especially families or...
Read moreWe have made a recervation 2 months before the date of arrival and we paid in advance for 3 nights. Two weeks before the day of arrival they called me to confirm the dates. When we arrived late in the afternoon they told us that we did a mistake and we were supposed to come the next day! They offered us another smaller room with 3 beds instead (we were 4 persons) but we denied. I told them that on the bank tranfer I have noted the dates and the 3 rooms of the apartment. Then they started talking very bad and we decided to leave this place immediatelly. When I am on holidays I really don't want to mess up with rude and unpleasant people. ||||About the hotel, it is placed on a hill and it is really difficult to park your car there as the hotel is on a dead end. If you don't have a car then it is really difficult to go to the beach on foot because of the hill. ||||So we found another hotel right on the beach with a pool 5€ more expensive and it was great. I still haven't got the money back from maria studios but even this way we were lucky that we...
Read moreThis studio hotel is actually called Studios Maria and is situated at the end of a rather steep road in Askeli, Poros. The hotel is surrounded by a pine forest which is very pleasant when you sit on the veranda. The owners are very nice people, and Mrs Maria offers cake, coffee, tea, bread and other goodies which her guests get free of charge for their breakfast. Parking may be somewhat difficult during the peak season end of July and in August, but for the rest of the summer season there is no problem. Would recommend it if you come by car (crossing from the mainland with the ferry), or taxi if you are an older person, as the road leading to the hotel from the beach is very steep and can be a difficult challenge. I would recommend this hotel for its cleanliness and most...
