My wife and I had originally booked an AirBnB for a week for our honeymoon, but the flights didnât line up and we ended up having an extra night on the island before our planned stay, so we thought we would treat ourselves to a more luxurious stay than we typically would, since it was our honeymoon and all!
Upon arriving, we were greeted with a very beautiful reception area and offered a drink while they checked our documents and checked us in. While checking in, we noticed the vibe start to turn, when the front desk realized we would only be staying one night, we sensed a bit of attitude.
We brushed it off and were taken to our room which was very clean and comfortable. We had mentioned that we were newlyweds and the staff had left a bottle of sparkling wine for us to enjoy, which was very appreciated.
Since we were treating ourselves, my wife had organized for us to each get a massage in the spa on site. We had hoped to get a couples massage (because you know, itâs nice to be with your spouse on your honeymoon) but we were told it wasnât possible and weâd have to go one after the other as there was only one masseuse working. Kind of a bummer, but we were still excited. Turns out the excitement was short lived as the massage was what we both agreed was the worst one either of us has ever paid for.
Again, we brushed this off and chalked it up to bad luck, and looked forward to our dinner at the hotel restaurant we had booked.
Upon arriving a waiter asked if either of us had any allergies, when I shared mine he responded âoh so itâs youâŚâ as I had informed the front desk when making the reservation. I was told what I was able to order due to my allergies and when he turned to my wife to see what she would like, we said we didnât know as we hadnât seen the menu to which we were told to go download the app and log inâŚ. Once we finally got our food, it was fine, but incredibly over priced and we decided to call it a night.
The next morning we were looking up our checkout time in our confirmation emails and saw there was a buffet breakfast included in our booking. Great! We could get some breakfast before taking off. We hit the buffet and sat down and promptly had a sever ask us what we would like to order, we said just coffee and juice as we didnât feel we needed more to eat than what was provided in the buffet and the server stormed off to get our drinks. We later asked for more coffee and had to ask again when the server who said he would, decided to forget about us. When the next server was asked for more coffee, she reluctantly came a few minutes later and filled my cup to the literal brim. If another drop came out it would have over flowed. Her body language during this aggressive pour told us she would rather be anywhere else.
We walked away stunned. This experience has made us never want to stay in a â5 starâ hotel again. Rude and condescending staff...
Read moreThis was our first time in Rhodes and we chose this hotel. We arrived late in the evening due to our very late flight. We booked the transfer to the hotel through the hotel's website. The transfer was done by a company that works together with the hotel. Despite the late arrival, it was still possible to have dinner. It was served again especially for us. Very worthy of praise.
The location of the hotel is good, but for us there were too few possibilities to do something without a rental car. Therefore we rented a car twice. On this we were able to rent a car from the hotel, which is in cooperation with a car rental company. We wanted to visit Rhodes Old Town, which ended in total chaos. We actually did not find a free parking space.
The hotel beach is very easy to get to within a 5 minute walk. An employee of the hotel is responsible for the physical well-being and all questions and was very friendly.
The hotel staff was also always very friendly and could always help us. However, not everyone speaks English equally well, so we often had trouble understanding them, as English is not our native language. The food was always very good, although it was not always to my taste, but that is not the hotel's responsibility. The breakfast buffet was good to very good. You can choose extra dishes like omelets with various ingredients. But what we always noticed negatively is that the milk for coffee was flaky and had to be replaced. When we complained about this, it was always replaced in a very friendly manner and without any problems. There one would have to look perhaps before, so that it does not come at all only to a complaint.
The room was always very clean and the maids always all very friendly. Likewise, the private pool was cleaned several times. Power cables can be used from Switzerland, as long as they are not 3-pole. However, the plugs do not have 220Volt as we have in Switzerland, so it can happen that if you want to charge several devices on the same socket, this does not work.
We can definitely recommend the hotel. We really liked that it is an Adults Only hotel, so it was always very quiet and we...
Read moreWe have just stayed at probably one of the best beach hotels in Greece. This was our first stay at Boutique 5 in Kiotari Rhodes, a fabulous 5 star, adults only hotel with only 44 rooms, so it is a very quiet place, with very attentive staff. Many rooms have pools, which are great after a day on the beach. The blue flag pebble beach is clean, the sea wonderful and clear with exceptional beach service. There are plenty of sunbeds and the beach attendant Diagoras was so friendly and helpful bringing towels, drinks and food; nothing was too much trouble. ||The architecture is spectacular as is the setting above the uncrowded stretch of beach. Next door is a lovely traditional taverna open during the day. ||The best aspects of Boutique 5 are the staff, food and cleaning team. Every single member of staff is friendly, helpful and great to talk to. We felt as if we had found long lost friends. The room cleaning was exceptional as well.||The breakfast buffet as well as the cooked food that you can order to the table was fantastic, plentiful and drinks would be replenished if required. The best experience however, was reserved for the evening meal, with white linen tables, fine dining, attentive service from knowledgeable staff and the most spectacular 4 course meal, plus breads and an amuse bouche. The chefs really went out of their way to prepare and present the most beautiful and expertly seasoned food. Special mention though has to go to the pastry chef who prepared the best desserts we have ever eaten! They were innovative and just the perfect blend of flavours and fruit, without being too sweet. ||We felt the staff, from the reception team, to the management team, front of house and serving staff were amazing. Thanks to all, including Evi, Leonidas, Lefteris and his sister and apologies to those whose names we have forgotten. We...
