The South Castle — Restaurant in Municipality of Rhodes

We have been very lucky to be able to eat lunch at this taverna most days during our holiday as literally opposite our hotel Boutique 5. This taverna has delivered and exceeded everything we wanted from a Greek taverna, from the the lovely George with his warm welcome and information giving of Greece, to his running around even when not busy which adds to the entertainment to the warm friendly welcome from his sister and “Mr Chef” I think brother but apologies but that’s what we called the chef each day. The calamari is the most delicious and tenderness we have ever eaten and we have been very lucky to have visited many countries so have tried calamari a lot, this cooked by Mr Chef is delicious. Exceptional experience at South Castle! The food was absolutely outstanding, with fresh flavors that truly captured the essence of Greek cuisine. George, the owner, along with his sister and brother, were incredibly welcoming, fun, and attentive hosts. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The stunning views of Rhodes' crystal-clear sea provided the perfect backdrop for our meal. Whether you're looking for a relaxing lunch this place delivers on all fronts. It wasn't easy to find from the road but well worth a look, eat, drink, or stop off. George was great and very efficient with his service; we chatted about football and most notably Newcastle United's two famous Greek players of which he knew rather a large amount each. The food was lovely, the drinks were cold and the glasses were frozen. We sat outside and had a view over the beach, not very expensive at all and good quality.

The kids gave this place "5 stars" and the youngest told George this which made him happy.

If you're ever in the area I'd suggest finding this place and giving it a go, open until 5 pm each day, and don't be deterred by the slightly abandoned look from the road it's nice when you...
