We stayed at Princess Sun last September/October, for 14 nights. I’ve been meaning to write this since we got back home as I know how important reviews are when looking for a holiday. Well, it was brilliant! We are a family with a then 2 year old and we had such a lovely time. The weather was stunning, the hotel grounds were clean, the staff at reception, in the restaurants, at the bar and the entertainment team were lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful. I am quite a fussy eater and I still found things to eat every day, at breakfast there was a selection of hot foods like eggs, sausages, etc along with sweet options (my fave) like pastries, fruit, cakes, cereal and yoghurts. Lunch time at the pool bar was brilliant! They had fresh pizzas, burgers, hot dogs, gyros, fish fingers or chicken nuggets and chips. For the evening meal back in the main restaurant, they had lots of options every evening (we stayed for 14 nights and there was some repeats but hey it doesn’t matter) my partner who enjoys trying food was happy with the selection they had. They even had pasta (with a bolognese sauce or tomato sauce) every night. They had a range of fruit and yummy puddings along with ice cream every night too. We aren’t big drinkers so can’t really comment on the alcohol side of things, we did have a couple of cocktails but that was about it. I loved the strawberry slushes (try one if you go!). We took a blue water bottle for our little one and we would just top it up at breakfast with the bottled water they give when you sit down at the table. Our room was a decent size for the three of us, it had a bathroom with a walk in shower, a double bed and a pull out bed along with a tv and dressing area. We had a balcony which looked out to the front of the hotel (as seen in the photo we stayed at the top). The pools were nice too, there wasn’t ever a fight for sun beds but imagine if it was busier there could be a struggle. Some people left the cups around which often blew into the side of the pool but that’s not the hotels fault, that’s just lazy people. There are staff who come round and collect cups that have been left. There are slides for those who like those, a children’s pool which we spent most of our time in and 2 other pools. There is a free shuttle bus that runs regularly to and from the beach. We only went once, it was very busy so ended up sitting on one broken sunbed between the three of us and it’s a stoney beach which does hurt the feet, so we chose not to return again but the views were lovely. We just weren’t prepared for how busy it was. We took trips down to the bottom of the hill as there are a little row of shops including a pharmacy which we needed for our little one during our stay. The hill is steep but definitely doable (we did it with a pram too). We booked an excursion to Rhodes with Impress Holidays, they are on Facebook and Google. I would definitely recommend getting out to explore if you’re there for a long time. We were collected from our hotel and taken to Rhodes town centre where we then explored on our own and met back up at the collection point for a certain time to be driven back to the hotel. We also walked to the bottom of the hill and got the bus to Lindos, another must do! It was very cheap, I can’t remember exactly how much but it was stunning! We had lunch there, wandered the markets and visited the beach. There is a kids club however we didn’t use that facility. But we did use the playground which is in the shade (Bonus!), perfect for after breakfast or before heading up for tea. I wish there was a light in there so it could be used during the evenings as there wasn’t much to do. There was entertainment every evening like a mini disco or singers/magician/dancers or the entertainment team putting on a show but it started a little late and with a toddler who’s been burning energy all day we only made it a couple of nights. We ended up sitting in the nice reception playing games together or with other families that we got chatting too which was just as lovely.

As far as an all inclusive, it was pretty good with some things to note. It has a small hotel feel to it. Simple and modern. Maybe too simple. The dining area is medium size and the outdoor dining is spacious and nice. Rooms are great for space and comfort. However, they lack in character. A bit boring. But you know what? I'd take a boring fully functional room over a funky one that has problems. Reception team are nice and lovely. From the first minute I had couple of issues with the room that were promptly dealt with with a bit smile. Really liked that. We visited in the first two weeks of September hoping to dodge any families with kids, but alas, plenty of kids were around, this is no fault of the hotel obviously but just in case anyone is thinking the same it's worth knowing children will be there!! Food was okay, not amazing. Variety was there but it's a variety* (with an asterisk), as in: few items are there all the time. Understandably why, to make sure everyone has something. Then the themes are reflected in a dish or two with varieties of the same thing over and over. It's a small buffet in comparison to bigger hotels but we never really had a problem. There is always a live station outside with two things being grilled/ cooked for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The desserts were a funny business because A LOT of the dessert consisted of: crusty pastry, creme patissiere and whipped cream on top, then depending on what goes over that it's considered a different dessert: ie: if banana pieces were on top, it was called fruit dessert. If Oreo crumble was on top, it was called Oreo tart or something like that, there is always 2 or 3 of that combo under different names. Found that cute and funny. The pools are nice. Alas the further pool from the slides wasn't a quiet pool, as mentioned kids were allowed there. So it didn't have music, because it's quiet, but it also had kids.. so... The a la cart dinner was alright, just one note that you have to pay for the drinks! The hotel is situated in the southern part of the island, so it's far away from Rhodes town and the buzzing life of that part of it. We rented a car for a day from Marster rent a car, amazing service, £50 for an automatic Kia Picanto, and hear this: no excess in case of accident!! Drove to Seven Springs and Butterflies valley and Rhodes town and back in a day. Most excursions and activities would be leaving from more northern points so options are limited unless you wanna pay extra for transport and having to leave extra early. Despite that, we did a snorkeling activity with PADI. The sister hotel beach was magnificent and we did jet ski there as well, £45 for 15 minutes, what you'd expect. The food there is alright as well. Transport from and to beach hotel every half hour with the awesome Antonious was a treat.

*Update for re-visit 2025* We are a group of 6 (middle-age) couples who have visited the likes of Mexico, USA and many many places in Europe, driving, walking and taking up excursions. We visited The Princess Sun Mid June 2022 and it was our first return to Greace / Rhodes in 10+yrs. This place was so good, we intended returning earlier but the fires meant we had to change plans. We booked a package holiday with Jet2 and this year have pool / sea views (last one was garden/ mountain) both are very good. Transfers: A short walk to the bus and we were aware of the location and possible 2hrs journey, so arranged private transfers and a hire car for ourselves (~£14 per day over 14 days - Efrem). Hotel: This is the best bit.... As per last visit, this place is excellent. *The entertainment staff are awesome and engaging* but not pushy like some places. Just chat with them and get involved - try something new. I feel like. Yoga and Pilates master - so very well taught for all abilities. Upon entering Kiotari there's a "Mall" sign and a 450m very steep hill. Swinging right into the carpark we took a sigh of relief as we were great with a obviously re-vamp hotel, clean with great appeal. A complementary self serve drink, most delightful reception staff, concierge gentleman how was very informative. Rooms: Excellent for a mid price budget we paid (and all inclusive!) Mini fridge with water, air-conditioning, patio (ground floor) facing the beautiful mountain last year, second floor pool facing in 2025 countryside, with Lindos coast line to our far left. High tech single touch lighting, ample storage, solid airtight door threshold, NFC card door entry, LED lighting. Free room safe, large flat screen TV (limited Chanels) room cleaned everyday to an incredibly high standard (there's light or button to indicate if you wanted cleaning). Just excellent. Staff: Wow, the management team really have done a great job on customer service and cleaning never stops, they engage at any opportunity - yep even the gardens and maintenance people. Out and about: we walk, bussed and hired a car, but don't worry about the hill as there's a free shuttle bus to the sister hotel, the process beach you use you all-inclusive (beach only / discount in the hotel itself) Staff were just excellent. The negatives? More English TV channels or maybe the facility to sign into our own Netflix/ Prime TV. Thanks for a great holiday - highly recommend. Tony & Suzy

This is a long one so I have broken it down into sections for people to skip to bits they are interested in as I understand not all have kids etc.||KIDS CLUB|Georgia and Gretna are the absolute best BEST BEST! I honestly cannot praise these girls enough. I have never allowed my children to go to kids clubs before without me staying even though they are desperate to go because I'm just too nervous but after seeing the care these wonderful women had for the job and the children I felt safe to and I couldn't keep my children away. You can see how much they love and treat the kids so individually. The highlight of their holiday they made me promise to come back because of these girls. My daughter burst into tears and wanted to move to Greece after saying goodbye to them and they have been role-playing kids clubs since coming home . They did a range of fabulous activities being very child led, face paints, crafts, treasure hunts, yoga, talent shows . I have recommended this holiday to all my friends and will definitely return with these ladies being a main factor. On our last day they brought the children to the pool and allowed my daughter to sing a million dreams to everyone she was so happy with that and was made to feel very special by both and the team leader.||Animation Team|Including the two ladies above the rest of the team were all so lovely, energetic and hard working. They put on fantastic activities for the adults and older kids by the pool through the day and were so friendly and happy chatting to people around the pool they were all so sweet but didn't catch their names but Natalia I think from c Republic was a sweetie . The shows in the night were great too and they really work hard with the atmosphere best team I've seen on an all Inclusive. The mini disco we all got involved in. The hotel also bring in a company to do a foam and bubble party which was fun in the day and acrobat dancers in the night ||Hotel |Immaculate, modern always clean doesnt look run down any where . The views from the restaurant and room (we had a sea view family) were stunning. Balcony a good size as are rooms which have a divider in between the double and sofa bed. 3 pools, one where games are played, 1 calmer one and then a toddler one with 3 slides next to it for all ages but would need assistance for younger ones as the pool is to deep for younger kids to stand in. I did see the reviews about people complaining they were shut due to people dephicating in them we were there for that which was a shame. What I will say though is this is a testament to how clean the hotel is would have been very easy for them to scoop it out but we watched them clear and treat the effected pools and there was always one open. Maybe a strict policy with a sign for toddler nappies must be worn needed due to this happening out of hotels control if the guests havn't got the decency to do it themselves. The lifeguard also stayed on shift to let a little child go on the slide which was really nice and customer focused. The hotel never seemed overcrowded or busy and we went in school holidays peak time. There was never a fight for sunbeds. The kids had a kids massage which they loved and was reasonably priced. ||Food|The food was nice a little repetitive for a vegetarian but I always found something, things were fresh and seasoned well and a good selection . The pool side pizzas could do with a little less time in the oven . Main issue with the food is nothing was labelled so I had to guess what was meat free sometimes not successfully so had to stick to foods I was sure of. Really needs the V/ Ve signs. ||Beach bar |We took a trip to the beach which was so effortless which was amazing a quick transfer and like all the staff the driver was very friendly and was doing more trips than scheduled didn't stop. The beach was beautiful we spotted some fish and the beach bar pizzas were absolutely stunning my oH had the gyros and said that was so good too. The all inclusive drinks were more limited here beer prosecco and some mixed spirits .||Staff |Unbelievably friendly and hardworking so many to mention but will name a few that stopd out...obviously animation team. Two Pool bar staff in black tops who mainly worked the days were lush (I thought they were brothers but one of them told he was too pretty to be brothers with the other haha) they were really friendly and would know what I want before I got to the bar lol.||The beautiful lady who cleared up the pool snack area was so sweet didn't catch her name but she would always give the children hugs and kiss their head so cute.||The lady with blonde hair welcoming people into the restaurant was so sweet she would call us her beautiful family made us feel so welcome and put a smile on our face. Reception staff were great there was a issue with one of our doors breaking in the shower there was a little break in it and when my oh pulled it shut it spread massively we reported it and the door cost £600 to replace but the staff were incredibly helpful and nice about it (however what I will say to guest is make sure any little sign of damage is reported at the start because they said if it was reported straight away they would have solved it before the break got bad . I don't think they believed tje damage was done how it was but it really was lol. Regardless they were great about it. But lesson to all report things straight away no matter how minor and it would be minor because the hotel is spotless| |Summary|This place is amazing especially if you have kids. While looking at the 5 star ones with the 7 pools massive area and layer entertainment, we still preferred this one as it was such a personal touch didn't feel too bug or busy and the staff knew your face and you theirs.|||Room for improvement||Label what food is veggie/vegan.||Maybe a barcode to tip not many carry cash these days and we would have loved to have tipped especially Georgia and Greta .||Thank you for memories to...

We ended up sitting in the nice reception playing games together or with other families that we got chatting too which was...

Have just returned from our week stay in this hotel. We decided an all inclusive was the best option for us with our 7 month and 5 year old daughters. I will first list the pros.

It’s a beautiful hotel which felt VERY clean, every day our room was cleaned with no problems and nice and early in the morning too. The cleaners were friendly and always said hello. The main reception area was also very clean and smelt lovely everytime we entered.

The staff are just gorgeous, always smiling and nothing is ever too much, especially staff in the restaurant such kind people, special thanks to a young waiter who always had a gentle smile on his face and would rinse our babies plate for us. I think his name began with a Z? So sorry for not catching it :( also the pancake lady in the mornings, my daughter loved her flower pancakes thank you so much for making her feel special.

Animation team are the best! The nicest people with SO much energy and so good with the children, my daughter was shy for the mini disco at first then really warmed up and wanted to get on stage which she never does! We only managed to watch the variety show but that was brilliant, the team work so hard and deserve alot of credit.

It was always easy to get a lounger by the pool but we have visited during term times. The bubble party for the kids was great I wish they ran it more and not just on Thursdays.

The park is lovely and shaded for some time out by the pool.

Our room was a garden view and it was perfect not too much of a walk and beds were very comfortable.

Now unfortunately moving onto negatives

The variety of foods were VERY difficult for my husband who suffers from severe nut allergy and an egg intolerance, nothing was labelled at the pool bar which I thought was terrible, I had no clue what anything was, not even meat? What about the people who don’t eat pork? Or simply knowing what something is is nice? The variety really lacked here and one day there was no desserts out which was very disappointing. The pizza was also very bland and not to our liking.

The main restaurant was good for me as I don’t suffer from any allergies but on certain nights like Mexican etc I found everything was within that theme and there was no basic meats out like chicken, beef etc? It’s fine doing themed nights but put a variety of ordinary foods out too! My husband literally lived on chips all week. It also would’ve been nice to have some yoghurts out in the evening as not everyone wants cakes. The Children’s section was also very tiny compared to other hotels I have stayed at in Greece before.

We also needed to rent a car via there onsite company marster rent a car, the lady inside was very lovely and helpful. We decided on one for the wedding night we was visiting on the Friday, when entering the car it was absolutely filthy, dusty dirt everywhere and on the children’s car seat which were not fitted in for us meaning we was stressing right before the wedding we needed to attend that evening meaning we was late and our baby not fixed in properly as we had no clue how to use their seats.

No tables around the pools meaning drinks go on the floor attracting ants and wasps. Having to queue for drinks at the bar is so off putting when you see seven or more people standing and waiting, most the time I just left it as I couldn’t be bothered, unfortunately no soft drink machine to just get up and help yourself you have to stand and wait to be served everytime and the same for Ice cream you cannot just get up and help yourself.

Be warned the coach transfer is 2 hours 30 and not what was advertised on our booking site.

The hotel next door plays REALLY loud music the walls are shaking I really struggled with our 2 children it was every night until 11pm not good at all for families which is a real shame.

And finally, additional charges like 69 euros to have the room for an extra 4 hours on check out day is absolutely absurd and I’m so glad we didn’t do it.

For me a week here was enough and some improvements could help it...
