Great, quiet, family run hotel.|We had an apartment with a tiny cooking area, one bedroom for two people and a sleeping area in the living room which was perfect for our group of three. |We were on the ground floor which is great for accessibility but was a bit of a bummer for our balcony. We had a ton of insects on it every day so we never sat outside in the evening which was too bad. ||There is a small pool with free sun beds and umbrellas and inside you can play billiard for free or table tennis. ||There is parking out front if you are renting a car, the supermarket and bus stop are also just a few steps away. ||The staff is friendly and helpful. They had a plate of dinner ready for us when we arrived late the first evening and they promptly gave us a topper for one of the beds when asked.||The room was spacious and clean, but a bit on the older side. There was air conditioning in the bedroom and it was positioned well that it pushed cooled air to the living room as well when they door was open. The beds were comfortable but mattresses varied a little hence why we got a topper for one of them which made it comfortable then. |The room was cleaned every second day and they did a good job.||There was entertainment only a few nights a week but it was perfect for us as we were looking for a quiet, more peaceful hotel.||I was a bit disappointed in the food. Breakfast was pretty good although it was the same every day except the eggs varied every second day. |Breakfast and dinner are buffet style but you cant take the food yourself, they serve you. This can be tricky at times when they put on more food than you would have taken.|For dinner they always had two kinds of meats and potatoes, noodles, rice etc. There was only ever one desert and sometimes I wouldn’t put what they offered into the „desert category“ (for example fruit) They also had some traditional foods, but overall, I found the food very bland and a bit „loveless“. It‘s not like it tasted bad but it also didn‘t have much flavour and the texture was sometimes overcooked. Especially given we are in Greece, the food should have had way more flavour. The salad selection was also poor. Only the same two salads each night. Only once there was a new one. If you are staying more than a week, the menu will repeat as well. |I think the food quality and options showed that this is a more budget hotel. ||To get to the beach, you take a lovely, well maintained path over the hill to the ocean. The hotel does not have their own sunbeds there, so you gotta rent some from the two restaurants.||One thing to keep in mind is that the hotel is further down on the east coast so transfer by bus from the hotel is quite long as they will stop at all other hotels first. ||Overall, I can recommend this hotel, especially for the price but it would be nice to see a bit of a change in the food quality and selection. We „substituted“ this by eating out for lunch a few times in some great greek traditional taverns when we did some...
Read moreI have been in several hotels in Rhodes this summer and this hotel scored the worst.
This hotel is attended by loads of Germans and the whole staff adapted the service to cater to this segment.
Breakfast: the buffet is actually a line at the counter to ask food to waiters. If you want a tissue or bigger portions, you cannot do it yourself. Other than some few pastries (running out fast) there's bread, ham and cheese, which look like those at a supermarket and fit into the classic German breakfast. You can also make your own crepe, although instead of butter/oil you have to spray a E943/E944-powered unhealthy spray. There's no coffee but a strange dark liquid out of a boiler that has the consistency of water. Juices are from the carton - supermarket quality. Water is from the tap rathe than a bottle. Want to get a coffee, a different flavour of juice or something else? Then you have to pay for it.
Swimming pool: okay, although there's no lifeguard and the kids' pool is not any warmer.
Room: spacious but with many defect. Soap bar is a China-made sticky thing that doesn't even foam. No ventilation in the bathroom for steam or bad smells. The bedspread was clear not clean when arrived or during the stay. Shampoos are given only at the arrival and not refilled. Wifi is very stuttering. Strongbox? extra to be paid. Glasses in the room also never washed. Yet, these pale compared to the worst issue: curtains. Not wide enough and not darkening at all. The family aside used tape to cover windows with trash bags out of desperation. I was told every hotel on the island had the same defective curtains - false, the other hotelsI visited had far better curtains, reels and fabric. So do not take the east-facing side.
Parking: very limited. You will be offered a public space on the other side of the road. Rather rocky and often full, so good luck.
Hygiene: the cleaning was actually not everyday but every few days. I cannot recall any 3-star hotel in Greece with such low frequency. One day I asked not to come but the lady became angry and forced me out the room..
Surroundings: pretty poor. Beaches are rather rocky and supermarkets expensive.
Last but not least: this is not a family-run hotel but a family-owned place. Majority of the staff is actually foreigners.
Overall, despite the price, it felt quite cheap in...
