Such a beautiful, atmospheric setting and lovely facilities, on the beach. Fabulous bar and bar staff, equally attentive to the wishes of our tweens as those of us adults. When it came to the restaurant itself however, it was very much a mixed bag. My husband had dreamy mussels in incredibly tasty sauce, but without bread or spoon to enjoy the juice. He also had wonderful seabream. The kids and I however were less fortunate, with rather tasteless, oily and, based on texture and length, re heated spaghetti. I had really looked forward to a prawn linguine, but sadly not worth waiting for. This had followed a dish of codfish which was deepfried and fairly average, fish cooked to perfection but batter and texture very oily. Dessert was very good for my daughter and I, with a chocolate mousse with extras, but my husband had a supposedly exceptional local dish of pasty, raisins and walnuts which appears to have been made with peanut butter instead of the advertised walnuts. There were several other factors as well, such as not receiving two of the dishes requested (during different courses) and on alerting the female staff to lack of toilet tissue in the bathroom, being met with a fairly empty 'ah ok'. Somewhat long review this, but we had very much looked forward to this visit as one of our favourite and much anticipated selections during our two week Rhodes trip. Sadly it seems we were expecting too much, and other establishments have delivered so much better...
Read moreWe wanted to spend a nice evening at the Lighthouse, as the ambience is fantastic. The cocktails were really tasty (a bit expensive). Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the service. We asked for a water 3 times, the 2nd time we asked (after 10 minutes) we were rudely told that someone else from the service would bring it, after another 10 minutes the same waitress brought it. In the meantime, she joked with the other waitresses, dance etc. Of course you are allowed to have fun, but not if you wait 30 minutes for the water, as well as 1 hour for the food, because that was supposedly forgotten too.
The worst thing is if you read through the negative comments, the cheeky answers show that they are absolutely incapable of criticism. It's a real shame. They will probably come up with another embarrassing and...
Read moreThis place is a beautyfull restaurant / bar in rhodos island. The food is excellent: chefs cuisine with some handmade dishes, beautifull presented like in a restaurant. Even the chicken nuggets with fries for my son are handmade. It is a little bit more expensive then the taverns in the neighbourhood, but you get a higher quality cuisine, service, view and well maintained location in return. I had the sea bras for 18 euros. Well presented and it was something i haven’t tasted before.
We even got a free amuse from the chef in advance.
Service is fine; english speaking waiters.
For the one who wants some more quality for once, this is the place to be.
For the one who want local cheap food. This place is probably a little bit more expensive...
