I hesitated a while before deciding to review Helios, because I somehow wished to keep this hidden jewel for myself. I first stayed there in August 2012, went back in 2013 and will go back next summer. Serifos is one of the most beautiful and magic Greek islands I have ever seen (and I have visited virtually the whole of Greece), and Helios is the best accommodation ever. Its location is ideal: in a quiet street, 50 mt from the beautiful Livadakia beach, and two minutes from Livadi port on foot. The traditional-style rooms are immaculate and extremely clean. Those on the ground floor have a private patio set amidst a nicely kept garden, whereas those on the first floor have a balcony with full or partial sea view. The hotel is also extremely good value, especially for Serifos standards. It is managed by Giota and her lovely family: some of the warmest and kindest people I have ever met, always ready to help, to greet you with a smile at the same time as they respect your privacy. I would never consider staying anywhere else on the island. Go there once, and I bet you will go back...

It was a small balcony, but fine just the same. We had the smallest room of the hotel, all of the other larger rooms had been booked far-in-advance. Our air conditioner remote broke the second night we were there, and she promptly fixed it for us with a new one. It is walkable to the beach, the port for the ferry and the restaurants. We would gladly...
