Firstly I would like to say thank you to Stratos at Galazio Suites, for helping my friend get a tetanus shot when she cut her foot in the sea. He went above and beyond to first call the doctor and then take her to the pharmacy on the Sunday when the medical centre was closed. Such a generous and lovely person. My friend was astonished at his kindness.||Both he and Maria are a lovely welcoming couple. They were academics in a previous life but Maria’s family are from beautiful Serifos so not surprisingly they decided to move here. ||The hotel that they have built, is a couple of years old and beautifully finished with a stunning pool, pretty Mediterranean garden, with incredible views over to the beach and a looking out over the bay area. ||The studio we had was very clean and comfortable with doors and windows you can fully open (as they had mosquito screens) and large balcony with table and chairs. There’s a full size fridge-freezer and a little hob should you wish to prepare your own meals. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was stylish. I would say don’t over order at breakfast because they bring a lot of pastries! My favourite thing was the cherry compote and yogurt. ||I returned to Serifos after 40 years and was so surprised (here last as a student sleeping on the beach at Karavi) to discover that it is still unspoilt, friendly and reasonably quiet compared to many islands. It’s a very relaxing place, no loud clubs (there is a fantastic chic cocktail bar in the village where the staff remember your drink by your face - astonishing!) and they hosted 57 of us for a birthday gathering at very short notice. ||The island is lovely, and we have decided that we would like to return to the hotel again, possibly even the same room, next year or following. We don’t...
Read moreGalazio suites is THE perfect place to stay in Serifos. We have so many good things to say. First our bedroom was so comfortable with a huge bed, the bathroom is clean and practical, and to top this all, the balcony has a wide space with a table and chairs allowing you to enjoy your breakfast (included in the price, ordered and delivered to your room at the time you chose) in front of the most beautiful view of the island. Located near the beach and the main city, you're at walking distance of a lot of restaurants and activities, including the diving center and boat location. A bus is also available to go to Chora easily. Regarding the hosts, Maria and Stratos are the kindest and most helpful people we've ever met. They drove us to the doctor late in the evening when we had a situation and stayed with us to translate if needed and bring us back to the hotel. They were inquiring on how we were doing every time we ran into them during our stay (and even by text when we were back home) and they are generally so nice and accommodating people, feel free to discuss with them ! Finally, the cherry on top of the beautiful cake Galazio Suites is, is the webpage the hosts developed which contains every info you need to have the best stay in Serifos including taxi numbers (because there aren't a lot on the island) and a link to order breakfast. Don't hesitate to book here, they really made our stay perfect ! Thank you Stratos and Maria, we'll be back next time...
Read moreThis is one of the best places we have ever stayed.||Beautiful, comfortable studio apartment, exquisitely designed with attention to every detail. Immaculately clean. Spacious balcony with lovely views across the bay and up to the mountains. Very nice pool.||Wonderful welcome from the owners and their team, including their own online information bank which had all the info we needed for our stay (eg taxi numbers and bus timetables).||Sensationally delicious breakfast brought to our room in a basket - with every option from beautifully ripe fruit to freshly baked rolls and pastries. ||1-min walk to the quiet sandy beach. 5 mins’ walk (up & down) into the centre of the very likeable little resort of Livadi - shops, tavernas, main beach and ferry port.||We spent 3 nights here while island-hopping round the Cyclades. Serifos is unspoilt by big package tourism. We’re hikers and had terrific days walking in the brown, heathy mountains, dotted with white villages and churches. A lovely constant breeze kept us cool enough in the gleaming September sunshine, and the views out over the blue, blue sea were glorious.||Strongly recommend a few days on Serifos, and, if you go, definitely make...
