Stelios runs a beautifully clean and charming pension. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a good sized balcony. The bed was really cool, made out of carved wood and we really liked the used of natural wood as decorations throughout. Well used to hikers, Stelios looked after us brilliantly, organising luggage transfers, coffee, water and lots of helpful advice. He even got up really early to give us breakfast as the heatwave meant we needed to walk much earlier than planned. The food is also excellent , in particular his homemade sausages and meatballs. Read moreExcellent small, family-owned hotel, right as you come down from Samaria Gorge. It’s away from the craziness of the town where everyone congregates after finishing the Samaria Gorge hike.
The food is good quality, with no-frills.
Make sure you check out their book collection. They have some unique books about Crete, printed by friends of the owners.
