Mediterraneo consists of 8 apartments, 4 smaller and four bigger.|We have stayed at the bigger ones. The apartment includes a mezzanine with a double bed and a small bathroom whereas the main bedroom and bathroom is located downstairs. However only the main bedroom bed can be split in two beds. As this is the main bedroom it would me better if the mezzanine bed could be split. Even more, as you have to climb a rather dangerous ladder in order to reach the second bedroom.|Except from that the decoration and equipment are very good. They have a dishwasher and a washing machine as well as an espresso coffee maker.|Now the negative points: |1. Cleaning was not what someone would expect for this kind of accommodation especially during COVID pandemic: the glasses were not well cleaned as well as and most importantly the light switches and the handles and knobs. |2. The COVID protocol implies the use of air conditioning with open windows. However, the proprietor did not deactivate the sensors, not confirming with the law, in order to reduce the energy consumed. So money first and we don’t care for COVID-19.|3. We have stayed 5 nights and they only changed once sheets and towels. Obviously, and again for the money we have paid, we should have at least the towels changed more often. Especially due to the shower dis function, water was dispersed all over the bathroom and the bath carpet was totally wet. When I asked to change the towels and sheets they have asked us rudely to pay 24€! Well, this was really too much! When in the same area other hotels, cheaper, were offering more frequent room cleaning and towels and sheets change. Of course this shows the lack of professionalism of these people whose only motivation is more earning but without taking into account that guest satisfaction should mainly lead their decisions...
Read moreMediterraneo is an extraordinary place, newly built, perfectly located on a calm side street in the middle of a lovely olive grove, just far enough from the busy street but close enough to reach all the points of interest (beach, restaurants, supermarket, ATM, boat rentals, etc) within 5-10 min walk. ||The room (in our case Almyra) was a modern, spacious mezzanine with two (!) terraces with amazing views over the olive grove, the sea, all the way to Diaporos island. We loved enjoying watching the sunsets with a glass of wine from our top floor terrace.||We were very picky about clean and modern bathroom and kitchen and Meditteraneo’s facilities were spotless clean, new and offered everything we needed for a two-week stay: proper cooker with oven, huge fridge, espresso maker, washing machine, iron, even dishwasher! ||Last, but not least, our special thanks goes to the owners, Ioannis and Vasilis, who went over and beyond their hospitality and facilitating a lot of the logistics of our stay (we didn’t have a car) in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis, including arranging a boat rental for us, giving us a ride to the beach, and even driving us to the hospital (some 45km away) and helping with translations when I dislocated my elbow. ||All in all (also in comparison to what we have seen and around Vourvourou), I think Mediterraneo, with its beautiful views, garden and swimming pool, is definitely the best choice. For our next visit, we wouldn’t stay...
Read moreOur stay at Mediterraneo was simply stunning. Owned and managed by brothers Ioannis and Vasilis, it offered the perfect blend of tranquility and convenience.
From the moment we arrived, everything was made incredibly easy. Ioannis and Vasilis were always on hand with a friendly smile, offering local recommendations for beaches, restaurants, snorkeling spots or simply sharing a chat over a morning coffee. Their warm hospitality made all the difference.
The villas themselves are beautifully designed, our apartment was well-equipped and had everything we needed for the week including washing machine, dishwasher and coffee machine.
The grounds are immaculately maintained, with lush greenery and many of the original olive trees - the land was an olive grove in its former life - creating a peaceful environment. There's also an outdoor kitchen with great views of the sunset which we made good use of.
The pool area is another highlight. With plenty of sun loungers and shaded spots, it’s an ideal place to unwind and soak up the sunshine.
A ten-minute walk down the track brings you to the relaxed town of Vourvourou. It’s a lovely place that stretches along the coast and is rich in tavernas, boat rentals and chilled bars.
In short, Mediterraneo is a little gem where every detail is designed for relaxation and enjoyment. Ioannis and Vasilis have created a haven that perfectly captures the essence of Greek hospitality. We’re looking forward to...
