We are a family from Estonia and spent almost 3 weeks in this hotel. The hotel is located right on the seashore with beautiful views. You can fall asleep to the sounds of the surf. The hotel is away from the main road, the village is also quiet. But despite this, there are many taverns with very tasty food in the area. The store is close by 3-5 minutes walk, it has everything you need. 2 stores on the same street but a little further, forgot a mask and fins - no problem, you can buy it all there! Car rental, boat trips, excursion agencies - all this is within walking distance. The rooms are clean and tidy, freshly renovated. Cleaning is done every day. We rented a family studio, 2 adults and 2 children, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, 2 air conditioners, the kitchen has everything you need to cook. There is a quiet courtyard without cars. Hearty breakfasts, there is plenty to choose from. For lunch, there is a separate menu: pasta, pizza, traditional dishes, ice cream, snacks.. And the bartender Vassilis will pour you a glass of delicious cold beer or make a cocktail to your taste!
As for the staff. It is impossible to describe in words! I have never experienced anything like this before. The hotel has a rich history. It has been owned and managed by the same family for 3 generations. The attitude towards visitors is very friendly. Everyone smiles, everyone is always in a good mood. Ready to help, happy to give advice on where to go and what to see, where to rent a car. Or even just chatting about something was always nice. A wonderful family!
I met an elderly couple there and found out that they are already returning to this hotel for the 15th time! And that already says something! According to another family, this is not their first time in Corfu, but this is the best place they have ever stayed.
I would also like to add, sharing my experience, this is one of the few places where I felt not just another client but a real guest, even more like a member of their family. Thank you Rossis family for the warm welcome. Dimitrios, Meli, Vassilis you are...
Read moreMy recent escapade at Hotel Rossis was like a roller coaster ride, with its highs and quirks. In this whirlwind review, I'm dishing out the juicy details of what made me grin and what had me scratching my head.
Let's start with the good stuff – the hotel's beachfront spot was a stunner. And guess what? The sunbeds were on the house! But hold onto your sunscreen, because there's a twist. Some early birds were treating sunbeds like they were precious gems, reserving them at the crack of dawn, only to appear around lunchtime. I mean, is it a nap contest or a beach vacation? Someone get these folks a watch!
Now, the staff – they were like the fairy godmothers of hospitality, making sure every moment was filled with smiles and helping hands. A+ for service, Rossis!
Speaking of hands, Messonghi village was within arm's reach, serving up a feast of restaurants, a grocery store that deserves a Michelin star, bars that knew how to shake a cocktail, cafes perfect for Instagramming, and even a bus stop to chase adventures. All in walking distance – how's that for convenience?
But let's dive into the room situation. While functional, it felt like I was time-traveling to a bygone era. The kitchen cupboards had their own stink party, and the mattresses were plotting against my beauty sleep. Note to self: next time, pack a mattress superhero cape.
Ah, breakfast – the battle of the taste buds. Greek yogurt on a water diet, coffee that did the polar opposite of perking me up, and juices that tasted like they had a chemistry degree. I quickly turned into a breakfast ninja, sneaking out for better options.
In the grand finale, Hotel Rossis was a mix of "wow" and "huh?" The beachfront and free sunbeds were applause-worthy. Staff were rock stars, while the rooms could use a bit of fairy dust. The village vibes were a hit. And breakfast? Well, let's just say I had a breakfast affair with nearby eateries. Until next time, Rossis – keep the beach sandy and the sunbeds...
