We had such a wonderful experience at Kostas Traditional Taverna, and I can honestly say it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had in Corfu. When we arrived, the restaurant was already fully booked, but the lovely family who run it went out of their way to fit us in. That gesture alone made us feel so welcome, but what followed was even better.
We decided to try a variety of dishes so we could all share, and every single one was cooked to perfection. The mixed grill was unbelievable – perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and a real highlight of the evening. The seafood pasta was fresh and generous, the steaks were tender and done exactly how we asked, and the carbonara was rich and creamy. Each dish had that special homemade touch that you only find in a true family-run place.
The service was just as memorable as the food. The staff are genuinely kind, friendly, and welcoming, making us feel like part of the family from the moment we sat down. At the end of the meal, we were treated to a homemade jelly and a glass of brandy – the perfect finishing touches to an already outstanding evening.
Everything about Kostas Traditional Taverna is filled with love, from the way the food is prepared to the way guests are cared for. It’s rare to find such a warm atmosphere combined with food of this quality. We can’t recommend it highly enough, and we will definitely be returning whenever we’re back in Corfu.

Read moreI strongly advise avoiding this place. My boyfriend made a reservation over the phone the same day, and the man who answered guaranteed that our booking was confirmed. We arrived on time, expecting a table as promised.
Before us was a family of four without any reservation. When the hostess asked us if we had booked, we confirmed, but she went to check and suddenly claimed we were not on the list. Instead of taking responsibility, she immediately cleaned a table for the family without a booking and seated them right away.
Not long after, another group of four arrived, also without a reservation. Once again, she cleared a table and welcomed them. Meanwhile, we were left standing, despite having taken the time to call ahead and secure a reservation.
We confronted her, explaining that this was unacceptable and discriminatory. Just because we are two people does not mean we will eat or spend less. We felt completely disregarded and humiliated. Her excuse was, “I’m only human.” No, this wasn’t about being human—it was about greed and prioritizing larger groups for profit over respecting confirmed reservations.
If you value fair treatment and professionalism, avoid this taverna. They clearly don’t care about their customers—only about squeezing more...
Read moreMy husband and I had dinner at Kosta's Traditional Taverna tonight and left feeling ripped off and disappointed. First, the positives: The food was delicious and well-portioned. My seabream was fresh and tasty, and my husband's pastitsada was also excellent. The staff were kind, with the food and drinks arriving quickly. The negatives: We had to wait ages for the bill (also had to remind the server), and when it arrived, it was 70 euro! Unfortunately, as the bill did not contain an itemized list of the things were ordered, we could not check the prices to determine if the 70 euro was accurate (of course it wasn't). We think they actually charged for the "free" garlic bread, small pieces of cake, and Metaxa that they claimed was a "gift," as I struggle to understand how 1 beer, 1 iced tea, 1 L water, haloumi, seabream, and pastitsada could be 70 euro.
It's best to stay away from this restaurant. Although our food was very good, we will not be going back due to the dishonest and absolutely...
