Corfu, with its shimmering waters and rich tapestry of history, is a dream destination for many. But even amidst this Grecian paradise, there are spots that stand out, and The Bacchus Tavern is certainly one of them. Our experience there, framed against a significant life event - a friends wedding, and it was nothing short of magical.

Firstly, the setting is pure poetry. Perched elegantly on the seafront, the tavern offers uninterrupted views of the azure sea, which glistens like a blanket of sapphires under the sun. As we celebrated our union, the gentle whispers of the waves and the horizon painted in hues of gold and crimson added layers of emotion and beauty to the ceremony. It felt like nature itself was celebrating with us.

The food, much like the view, is a feast for the senses. Grecian cuisine is renowned for its rich flavours and fresh ingredients, and The Bacchus Tavern left no stone unturned in upholding this legacy. Each dish was a delightful amalgamation of tradition and innovation. From the velvety tzatziki to the succulent lamb, every bite echoed the passion and skill of the chef.

We were sat almost directly underneath a bird's nest - which was very cute. However the birds were pooing which was landing on the floor about 30-50cm away from our table which was unpleasant. We asked if we could move to another table and were told of course as soon as one was available. This never happened even though multiple unreserved tables were free. This is unlikely to affect many people, but isn't reflective of good service.

I ordered the sea bream as catch of the day. This was deboned extremely badly and I had to pick out over 20 bones. The vegetables on the side were extremely bland and tasted microwaved. My partner's dinner was tasty however.

It then also took over 20 minutes of waiting after asking a waiter for the bill, at which point I had to go to the kitchen to pay.

The dinner was also the most expensive meal we have had here by far, and was the worst. However the wine was cheap and there was...

During a recent trip to Corfu for a wedding, we dined at Bacchus 3 or 4 times with large parties of 15 or more. The service was impressively fast without sacrificing quality. The food was consistently fresh and expertly prepared—no frozen ingredients here. The calamari was perfectly crispy, and the fresh fish was so flavorful it didn't need any seasoning. ​A few standout dishes included the fantastic veal T-bone and the village salad, which was seasoned and oiled to perfection. It was so good, in fact, that I ordered a family-sized salad with grilled king prawns all for myself on two separate occasions!
