I recently stayed at Klimis Hotel in Spetses over the weekend and had a mixed experience. While the hotel boasts a great view from the room, close proximity to downtown and the harbor, as well as renovated rooms, there were some significant downsides that affected our overall stay.
Unfortunately, during our visit, there was a local water problem in the neighborhood on the island. This issue led to low water pressure, resulting in no warm water during the night. To make matters worse, we were not informed about this problem beforehand, leaving us unprepared and caught off guard. In an effort to find a solution, we had to walk a kilometer to a different part of town to use our friends' shower, which was not as affected by the water problem. It's important to note that this was not solely the hotel's fault, as it was a regional issue affecting the local area.
However, what disappointed us the most was the way the hotel staff handled the situation. They were unable to offer any immediate solutions, and if it weren't for our friends staying elsewhere, we would have been unable to shower at all. Additionally, the following morning, due to the previous night's ordeal, we overslept and arrived at breakfast 20 minutes late. Despite the circumstances, the staff refused to accommodate our needs or make an exception, even charging us for a coffee that would have been complimentary just 20 minutes earlier.
Considering my regular visits to this hotel in previous years, this experience has left a bitter taste. The lack of communication and the staff's unwillingness to provide reasonable assistance in light of the water issue and our subsequent lateness for breakfast has significantly impacted my opinion of the hotel. Regrettably, I will not be choosing Klimis Hotel for my future...

My partner and I had a pleasant stay in Spetses, and this hotel is a solid choice for those seeking good value for money.
The rooms have potential but could benefit from some improvements to make them truly comfortable:
Storage Space: There weren't enough places to hang or store our stuff, which meant we often had to open our luggage on the floor or bed. Adding more furniture for luggage storage and hangers throughout the room would really improve this.
Bathroom Size and Layout: While the size of the bathrooms can’t be changed, the layout could be so much better. The plastic shower curtains felt inadequate, often sticking to us while showering. Additionally, there weren’t enough hooks for towels and clothes, which would make the showering experience much easier. A larger sink would also be so much better, as it was too small to hold basic items like toothpaste and toothbrushes.
Despite these, the hotel offers a lovely atmosphere. And it is great value. The on-site restaurant, with its sea view, serves good food, and the staff is really friendly.
Location-wise, it’s just a short walk from the city center, making it very convenient.
Overall, this is a good hotel. There is definitely room for improvement (toilets) but I would recommend it as a solid...
Read moreIn 1983 Spetses was the first ever holiday and Holds great memories for me. I last visited the island in 1987 with my beautiful late wife. After such a long time I wanted to go full circle and visit Spetses just one last time and chose Klimis hotel for me first accommodation for seven days. I chose a sea view room on the first floor with its own small balcony and I was not disappointed. Klimis is a fantastic family run hotel in a fantastic position close to all the restaurants, bars, harbour etc. The view out to sea to the Peloponese mainland was amazing. The room was very modern , well furnished and decorated .The double bed was very comfortable and had sufficient amenities and the room was cleaned well. There was always hot water available and more than adequate air conditioning via a remote control. The breakfast...
