Symi Sun Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Symi

I am giving this property 1 star because I cannot give it -200. The positive reviews on google mislead me and they have to be a scam. Dirty floors and dirty cupboards. A strange smell coming out of the bathroom, where the extractor fan is installed in a strange angle (and I am fairly sure cockroaches were hanging by it over night). Dead bugs on the dirty floor. Dirty curtains, covered in dust (the place had venetian blinds, I don’t understand why these were not thrown away a long time ago but I was not keen on checking what they were covering). A really dirty outside area. A broken fridge that served as a storage unit for cleaning products (a lot of them surely not used). Dog feces on the path on your way up to the property (it’s the stench that welcomes you). Stained bedsheets and pillowcases with hair from whoever all over. It is also in an extremely inaccessible point in the city. The description of the location is really misleading. If you have to climb up and down all the stairs in the heat and you are not fit enough to do it, don’t even think about it, just take a taxi. Overall, if you are old and frail and don’t have a car, avoid it. What else? I opened the wardrobe only to find it overtaken by a mound of things covered by a sort of mattress sheet. The wiring looks faulty at best, but it’s probably hazardous, same for the light switches (so if traveling with children and unlucky enough to be stuck with this place, please keep an eye on that). And in the end you can get better, and cheaper places elsewhere! This had never happened to me in Greece, where I have stayed in all kinds of places over the years (from the cheap to the expensive), but dirty, unsafe and unwelcoming had never happened to me before. I reckon it is not very likely to happen again, because let’s face it, it’s not even that much of a trouble to keep a place like this clean and in good condition, even if it’s old and shabby (I mean, dirty cupboards! la camera con cucina è modesta ma sufficientemente accogliente e con una bella vista sulla baia di Pedi. bel funzionante e silenzioso il climatizzatore cosí come il frigorifero. letti (5) nella norma come comfort. Necessario un mezzo per raggiungere il porto e la baia di Pedi; a piedi è molto faticoso. sono presenti numerosi gatti attorno alla casa, chi non li ama o è allergico ne tenga conto. A noi hanno fatto compagnia. per 5 gg nessuno è mai passato a pulire o rigorvernare la camera, ma va bene. inaccettabile il cartello in bagno che informa di non buttare carta igienica nel water. ma del resto siamo in una...
