If you’re in Symi and searching for that perfect little taverna where food, views, and good vibes all come together like a well-played bouzouki melody — To Spitiko is the place.

Let’s talk food first: authentic, rich, and cooked with heart. You can taste the tradition in every bite — from fresh seafood that probably knew the sea just hours ago, to home-style Greek dishes that make your soul sigh. It’s the kind of meal that makes you linger just a little longer, not wanting the moment to end.

But what truly makes this place unforgettable is the view. Perched with a perfect gaze over the port of Symi, you sit there sipping your wine, watching boats drift lazily across turquoise waters, and you think: Yeah… this is living.

And then, there’s the hostess — a lovely lady with a smile as warm as the Greek sun. She doesn’t just serve food — she serves joy. With genuine kindness and incredible local knowledge, she gave us the best tips for hidden beaches, photo-perfect walks, and secret spots we would’ve missed without her. You know when someone truly cares that you have a good time? That’s her.

To Spitiko isn’t just dinner. It’s an experience. Go for the food, stay for the view, leave with a full heart (and probably a plan to come back...

Night after night we passed this place. It does look I tiny bit like a tourist trap. But it is NOT.

First of all, they had a vegetarian menu, which a lot of restaurants don't have. I didn't have to eat a plate of mushrooms only. Or have that pasta with vegetables (all you veggies out there know what I mean).

Secondly. They had knowledge about gluten intolerance and explained exactly what my partner could and could not eat from the menu.

Third, they did not only serve the exact same thing as everyone else (don't get me wrong here, "everyone else" serves really good food, so no shade on the other restaurants, but sometimes you crave other food).

Fourth, The people working there were by far some of the nicest people we met on the island so far. With that I mean VERY friendly. Relaxed, service minded, smiley, giving you that homely feeling.

Fifth, the food came out of the kitchen steaming hot. Is was very well made and very, very tasty. Fresh and just so good!

This family restaurant in Simi is absolutely amazing. The service is first class, we loved our server Lenett. She was so helpful/pleasant and informative helping us with our choices of lunch. After a 2hr boat from Rhodes, we all needed food and drinks. This taverna was also goo value for amazing food. When you arrive at Simi, you have to be aware that there are some inscrutable eatery’s at Simi that charge you extra for views!!! But not taverna to spitiko. Honest family run restaurant. Jordana is head of restaurant and is also super friendly. All the girls there are so friendly. So when you arrive at Simi port. It’s like a horseshoe shape port. Spitiko is on other side of horseshoe. Now to the food. Absolutely amazing tasting food. Kofte is amazing/Simi shrimp eaten whole are incredible and the seafood pasta is just wonderful. Please try this restaurant and have a nice ice coffee whilst relaxing taking in beautiful...
