Nikolas Hotel is tucked away down side streets, a 20min walk from the main square of Thira. The rooms are spacious and clean, the pool tinkling outside, Oia glowing in the distance.|The only problem we had was with a local rooster who decided 3am was the start of each new day - we are yet to find and eat him! If you travel over Easter like us, bring some ear buds for the bells, as beautiful as they are they do start early!|Other than one gobby rooster our stay was perfect; I really liked the wide choice of breakfast items without it being overwhelming - a turkey and cheese toasty followed by a hearty bowl of Greek yogurt and juicy cherries is the perfect start to an action packed day!|Being tucked away you don't have the noise of the busy main road but you are in a prime position, with short walks to pastry shops, bakeries and even a supermarket. The 20 min walk in and out of Thira is just enough to get your blood pumping for the day, and walk of all the gyros and crepes in the evening. Most companies will collect you from the hotel, but there's also a main bus stop to take you in and out of Oia or the airport or beach.|The staff are always on hand and work with a local company for instant transfers to places like...
Read moreGreat 3 star hotel with very helpful staff and exceptional value for money.
Stayed for 5 nights in mid-September and can't really fault the hotel for the price paid. The room was clean, aircon worked perfectly, a safe is provided and there is your own outside seating area with each room. Our's had a balcony! The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They arranged transfers to Fira and a local wedding we were attending, picking us up promptly when arranged and for the price quoted. The continental breakfast was far better than expected, plentiful and there was some variety offered by the very friendly catering staff, who made the effort to explain the variations of the food on offer each morning.
As for location, this was perfect for us as it's in the middle of the island a 5-10 minute walk to the local bus stop with plenty of local vehicle hires, bakery's, supermarkets and restaurants.
My only request would be for tea/coffee making facilities... but with all the local bakeries around, it's hardly an issue.

Read moreMy fiancé and I enjoyed a fantastic stay at Nikolas Hotel. Nestled in the traditional village of Karterados, about a 20-minute walk from Fira, the location was peaceful yet still close to restaurants, a mini-market, and convenient bus service.
We stayed in the Superior Double or Twin Room with Pool View, which was spacious, traditionally styled, impressively clean, and comfortable. It featured excellent air conditioning, a cozy bed, and a private balcony overlooking the pool. The daily housekeeping was much appreciated.
The customer service was excellent from start to finish. The staff were warm, professional, and always happy to help with anything we needed. The hotel driver was also fantastic, punctual and kind.
The pool and terrace offered a lovely retreat, complete with sunbeds, umbrellas, and a friendly pool bar, ideal for relaxing after exploring.
Overall, Nikolas Hotel offers a serene, comfortable, and welcoming experience, perfect for couples seeking to unwind near Santorini’s vibrant centre. We would happily...
