If you're searching for an extraordinary dining experience in Santorini, look no further than Jaipur Indian Restaurant. Nestled in the heart of this beautiful island, Jaipur offers a culinary journey that transports you straight to the vibrant streets of India.
From the moment you step in, the warm ambiance set the tone for a memorable meal. The star of our visit was undoubtedly the hospitality of Varinder Singh. His genuine warmth and attentiveness elevated our dining experience to another level. Varinder's deep knowledge of the menu and his passion for Indian cuisine were evident as he guided us through the diverse offerings, ensuring that each dish was perfectly suited to our tastes.
The food at Jaipur is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish bursts with authentic flavors and is crafted with the finest ingredients. We ordered Paneer Tikka & Garlic Naan both of which were cooked to perfection. Each bite was a testament to the chef's skill and dedication to authenticity.
Special mention must be made of the Naan bread, which was soft, fluffy, and the perfect accompaniment to our meal.
What sets Jaipur apart, beyond the exquisite food, is the exceptional service. Varinder Singh's hospitality made us feel like honored guests rather than mere customers. His attentive yet unobtrusive service, combined with his friendly demeanor, made our visit truly special.
In summary, Jaipur Indian Restaurant in Santorini is a gem that should not be missed. The combination of outstanding food, superb ambiance, and Varinder Singh's exemplary hospitality creates an unforgettable dining experience. We can't wait to return and savor more of what Jaipur...
Read moreJaipur Palace in Fira, Santorini, is hands down the best Indian food I've had outside of India! As an Indian, I was blown away by the authenticity and quality of every dish. We started with salted lassi and masala chai—both were exceptional and full of flavor. Next, we had papad served with mint yogurt chutney, which was incredibly refreshing with perfectly balanced spices.
For the main course, we ordered kadai paneer, dal tadka, tandoori roti, aloo paratha, and jeera rice. Everything was cooked to perfection! We requested the dal tadka and kadai paneer to be spicy, and the chef nailed it, delivering the authentic heat you'd expect from a dhaba in India—not toned down for foreign taste buds. The tandoori roti was soft, the aloo paratha had a delicious filling that didn’t need any extra dips, and the jeera rice was fresh and aromatic.
What made our experience even better was the wonderful conversation we had with the staff. They were so genuine and down-to-earth, making us feel right at home. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who has been in Greece for 28 years and running this restaurant for over a decade. He told us about his other restaurant, Bharat Indian Thali, which we were also considering. It was fascinating to learn about the different concepts between the two.
Visiting Jaipur Palace was a highlight of our trip, especially since it was my birthday, and the amazing food truly made our day. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Santorini, and we'll definitely be back...
Read moreI will preface by saying I’m a long time resident of the NYC area. And there is absolutely no shortage of Indian food. From Richmond hill to Jackson heights to NYC. We have the best restaurants which are acclaimed to hole in the wall BYOB spots which will knock your socks off. And travel to India often.
With that being said here is where we are:
I don’t understand the high ratings of this place other than the staff being very friendly and courteous but man the food is not good at all.
Here’s what we got:
Chili chicken wings Fish pakora Daal makhni Butter paneer Chicken kadai Naans
The part which struck out to me as this restaurant might need a little bit of training in how they prepare their items.
The chicken was not seasoned at all in the kadai chicken. They threw plane, cooked chicken into the masala or kadai preparation.
Paneer - def missed the mark as well. Just overall wasn’t good
Daal - was super dense with a funky taste. Not what you expect from daal makhni at all
The fish pakora was decent. Naans were good. And that’s they.
Service: was great. They tried to justify by saying you can’t find the Indian type chicken here but there was a restaurant I think momos in the main area in Fira which actually seasoned their chicken. (Shocker).
Sorry for the scrambling thoughts on this post but I thought I’d be honest with my critique. Not sure why people are ranking this saying amazing Indian food. They probably never ate Indian food before or just have...
